That's not true. The 2AZ-FE engine (found in Camry, Corolla, Matrix, Rav4, Solara, Scion xB and tC between 2006-2011) has issues with burning oil, that might be reoccurring even after repairs in warranty.

A search on this forum is sufficient to show other issues.
Remember though, he has the 2AR-FE, being a 4.4, and that was his context. You’re right about the earlier engine but the 2.5L 2009-on) is virtually bulletproof, minus sime minor issues.

Only the 2.4 lite engine has the oil burning issue which effected 2006-2008 models. In 2009 a new engine the 2.5 litre was introduced which did not burn oil.

But from m&m's experience it would be true since his is the 2.5L 2012-on version. Haven't heard on any problems with them.

Owners who have had the 2006 - 2008 4 cyl oil burning issue corrected by having the Toyota TSB rebuild done generally have reported that the issue was fixed by the rebuild.
