Anyone install a vanguard bull bar on their 1st Gen?
Not sure the bar or parts I got is for the 1st Gen, since instructions say 01-06, it was marketed for 1st Gen.
Attached pictures showing brackets and bull bar.

Definitely different, yours was a westin bar, had the same one on first rav4. This is vanguard, I know on the westin bar it had a different mounting type, the bar had a hole at end tube that attached to bracket. The vanguard has a flat connection type ? I would've got the westin, but can't get the brackets any more. Oh well, going to go back to shop sold it to me & see if they can show me how, or they'll have to take it back.

The mounting points for a bull bar usually are the tow hooks, the neighboring threaded hole (both visible in your picture) and an additional threaded hole directly in front/above concealed by the bumper cover.
Check this post for visual aid and a Toyota installation guide for the factory bull bar for inspiration:

If you can't figure a way to attach the mounting brackets to two of these three mounting points, then probably your bull bar is incompatible with your Rav.
If you do happen to use the threaded holes, pay attention to the bolt specifications as they are of finer-than-normal pitch.

Thanks Mike. This setup I got is definitely not for this year, just confirmed by shop that sold it. It's for next gen, but they advertised it as for my Gen also. They are going to hook up the brackets for me, custom. Hopefully it works.

They've done & were very Kool about it, didn't charge me for it, tipped the installer of course. Still have to paint, but looks great, love that the bars are thicker than the westin.

I'll do better than that. I'll give you links to exact product on amazon, ridiculously cheap too.
