10 year, 100K Toyota Platinum Warranty $1360 for a Prime, might be less for a hybrid but think they are the same. Run don't walk from that dealer.

Yes, R4 hybrid but for 2020 model. Quote I got is recent.

Extended warranties are a profit maker for the underwriter (Insurance company OR the manufacture). The devil/details are in the fine print. Some people buy for their peace of mind. Ultimately your car/$.


You have until 3yrs/36,000 miles to purchase the extended vehicle warranty from Toyota. Clock and mileage starts at time of purchase/posession; the moment you take keys and drive off lot.

The Toyota extended Warr can be purchased online from other dealers for FAR LESS than what you are being quoted.

I paid $1250 for my 10 year/100k on my 2020.

Whats the difference between a warranty and a vehicle service agreement? Can both be used at any dealership, or even non dealership?

Not legally the same and don't cover the same items. Also there is a downside to purchasing a VSA from a dealer far away and that is the $200 deductible that will be waived if the VSA selling dealer does the service work but won't be waived if not. Read the contract. And wait till the third year if you plan to be under 36k miles then. I have till June to decide to buy for my 2019. Until then I'll keep the money in my bank account.

Wolverine Toyota or Greenfield Toyota will sell you a factory Toyota Platinum VSA with zero deductible 10yr/125,000 coverage for $1,795.

I got my 7 year/100k Toyota Platinum warranty with $0 deductible for $1025. The peace of mind is worth $1000 to me.

2'nd for Troy in Greenfield Mass. That's where I got the factory warranty for my F150 and for the wife's Rav....
