So I was playing around with my radio and the 12 volt source shorted to my VSS input line. As a result the vss code fired off a few times. I cleared the codes and isolated the wires but it came back. I figured I may have burned out the sensor but wouldn't the speedo stop working? So now I'm thinking the ECU may have been hurt, not sure?

I order a new sensor so ill give it a swap just to be sure. I was also hoping to find an image or drawing of where the vss is located. I looked around a bit with no luck other then an approximate area.

I was able to replace the vSS's. I only bought one and first tested one VSS then gave it a teat drive. Same code so I tried the other. After doing the second VSS I forgot to connect it and I didn't get the code (and was stuck in 1st gear). Then I reconnected it and got the p0500 back. Could both be bad? Any ideas here?

That sounds like no fun. Is there a test in the service manual(usually a resistance check) for these?

Edit: Disregard, it looks like you tested based on your other VSS thread.
