I call mine generally "my baby", but sometimes i call it SUV although it isn't really, but that's what pops into my mind when i'm trying to explain someone who doesn't know what a RAV4 is. Normally at the dealership i call it my car.
I think of my Rav as a truck, and I often refer to her as "my truck", so I chose that in the poll. I never call her an SUV because of all the negative connotations that go along with that term in my mind (soccer moms, women who never haul anything but groceries but drive behemoths anyway, gas guzzlers, etc.). Even though the Rav IS an SUV, I have no negative thoughts toward it since it is reasonably fuel efficient and not so huge that people wonder why anyone would drive it just going to the grocery store or post office. Why don't I associate all these negative ideas with the term "truck"? I have absolutely no idea! Maybe a psychologist could figure that one out for us!
Anyway, I also sometimes refer to my Rav as "my car", simply because "car" is usually the first word that comes to mind when talking about four-wheeled motor vehicles, even though I've been driving what I really think of as "trucks" for the past 14 years (the two Ravs and a Suzuki Sidekick)!
And like lots of others, probably most often I call her "the Rav".
Her actual name is "Boston" though, after the lovely city where I bought her!
