Had a little shimmy in the RAV4 at 65 mph. Took the Blackmobile in today to check why this was happening since I just had the new tires balanced a little while ago. Found out the last guy that did the work counter balanced the wheels since the old weights were still on from the previous tires
EGAD! Hard to believe isn't it? That's almost as bad as the A/C filter installed with the plastic still on it.

Used Stoner's Tarminator on ALL the doors, fenders, and lower surfaces of her car. She had no choice but to drive on a fresh patch of newly tarred road. What a mess! I went to two car washes to use the pressure sprayers on the caked wheel wells and interior side of mud flaps to knock the tar & pebbles off...........they were both closed! WTF? The garage reeks of tar......I've got a heavy duty clean up in front of me. I'm glad that I had a full can of Tarminator in my stash as I used most of it.

Spent six hours cleaning up her car Saturday. No breaks, no pee stops, go, go, go! ALL tar gone, finish better than the day she drove it home. The flake in the paint is blinding in the sun......and not too shabby in the garage! I be proud.

Took it in today (get this, to the local Cadillac dealer!!) for a four tire rotation and four wheel alignment. Hit a whopper hole in the street at speed and knocked the steering wheel off center  The alignment guy got it right on the nose the very first try, no damage :D:

Just a little teaser but I gave it some shiny! From a phone so no prize winners but the pearl is there for all to see. The entire car gleams like that. (click pics three times for a close up)

I FINALLY had my JL Audio Cleansweep, JL Audio amp, and Bazooka 10" 200 watt sub professionally installed today. Two years without decent sound is way too long! The Cleansweep and the amp are hidden. The Bazooka is in the back mounted to the floor with quick release points so I can haul large objects if need be. Skynyrd never sounded so good.... now through nine speakers!
Not bad for an old fart, eh?

Not bad for an old fart listening to Skynyrd at all! Must sound great.
It really is outstanding. Clarity was my goal and it was achieved in spades.
Joplin, Creedence, Stones, and Fleetwood Mac are not too shabby sounding either.
You feel the bass in the seats and it buzzes all three mirrors when I crank it up to ludicrous speed......but it's still clear and clean, not distorted. The Cleansweep sees to that.

Old stoners never die. They just go deaf in their car :):):):p.

Really good stuff Menzerna. The final polish is quite "mild" so you might have to switch around buffer pads to get the results you want. It sounds as though you've used it before so I'm sure you're aware of this.

Had a PDR guy come to the house and massage a couple of dings out of our cars. PDR is an art in itself and this guy is a master at it. $55 per boo boo and an hour later he was done. Perfect repairs in both cases.

I know it's all in the name of efficiency but ain't it a shame that an acorn can ding a new car? I had a '58 Ford wagon that a sledge would bounce off of.

Just got around to changing the cabin air filter. Only 9600 miles but 2.5 years in my possession. I'll now do this on an annual basis since it was so full of crud that you couldn't see light through it. I changed the one in the other RAV too but it wasn't so bad since I had done it once before. Mine was foul! Time to check yours out folks if it's been a while.

Fueled up the Rav yesterday with non-ethanol gas. I had been buying non-ethanol gas for another of our vehicles and decided to try it in the Rav. Steady state fuel economy has gone up by nearly 10%. We got two 60 MPH runs across a dead flat bridge and with the cruise control on, it was registering 35-36 MPG in one direction, and 35 MPG in the other direction. Normally, it reads 32-33 MPG. We'll see if the gas consumption over the entire tank is much better or not. It seems to feel a bit more powerful. I'm not used to driving it any more and the whiplash effect I get starting up from a stop seems worse, and it seems to be able to climb slight freeway inclines without unlocking the torque converter like it normally does.
Until about a year ago we had only real gasoline where I live, no ethanol tainted fuel at all. How things change..........now there is no 100% gasoline available, it's all E-10. My MPG dropped also but no notice of performance change. This is progress? You're fortunate to have real gas available at all.
