What have you done to your RAV4 today?

I saw this on another site and figured to give it a try here at R4W. Pics are nice but not required. Tell us what you have done to your RAV4 today!

I'll start off first... I saw cat foot prints on my hood today. Decided I need to wash it this weekend.

Got the front windows tinted. Now driving is much easier on the eyes.
Put my spare tire cover back on after two years, dove it like that for one afternoon and then removed it because I hate that big dumb thing.
I said Goodbye to my RAV4 today

Today was a sad day. I have had my 2007 RAV4 V6 Limited for almost 11 years. I LOVED MY RAV4. I had just put brand new tires on it - spare included - plus a new air compressor for the AC to the tune of $1,800. The tires were 1 week old to the day.

Friday we were in an accident in my RAV - I called my Rav4 "Ravioli" or "Donkey". Some guy made an illegal u-turn from the right shoulder and the car in front of us swerved right to miss us. Hubby was driving (he actually hates driving my RAV) and he jerked the car to the left to miss this idiot. He hit us in the back which made it spin in a 180 degree spin and slide sideways back across to the right side of the road and then flipped over and come to a stop up against trees on the passenger door. Hubby was so tightly held by the seatbelt we couldn't get him out. I tried to unclip the seatbelt to no avail. Mine popped right open. People stopped and cut him out and I crawled out the back with my Blue Heeler dog. Thank God she wasn't hurt.

Just wanted to say - my Toyota RAV4 saved our lives. It was crumpled but held. The windshield did shatter but it held...the top hit a culvert right over my head but the windows held - all of them. I am grateful that we walked away from this but heartbroken over my RAV4. I used to post here many years ago when I first got my Donkey.

There is no replacing Donkey with a new one. I need a V6 to haul my horse trailer with - it is an European model and made to be transported with a vehicle the size of a RAV4. I am going to try to find one that is a V6. If not, I will move to a Highlander.

I was so sorry to leave Donkey there - all crumpled up but glad that I could walk away. They are one tough vehicle. RIP Donkey.

I'm sorry for your loss, Denise. Glad to hear you and your loved ones came out of this OK. Hopefully you can find a nice 2011 or 2012 V6 RAV4 to replace Donkey with.
Continued the interior detail project today.

Yesterday or the day before I deep cleaned all the plastics and trim, today I pulled out all the seats, the rear interior bits to get to the speakers, and deep cleaned every fabric in the car including some of the headliner.

Attached a full view of the interior pre-cleaning, and also a before/after of one of the worst spots.

It's by no means stain free, but it's a hell of a lot better than before! The previous owner was a smoker, had dogs, and a kid. There was some nasty, nasty stuff. I'm allergic to smoke as well as dogs, so getting sick every time I drove the car was getting tiresome. :)

No 'after' picture from the rear hatch though. Lots of stuff in the back right now as I'm running new wiring, so it's a huge mess again already.

Denise, I'm sorry to hear that your RAV4 was damaged beyond repair, just glad everyone and your pooch made it out okay.

It came out better than I hoped.

I had to reply to this, because I just can't stop grinning. Why do I find this so funny?

Put my spare tire cover back on after two years, dove it like that for one afternoon and then removed it because I hate that big dumb thing.
Got the Weathertech side window deflectors installed.

Do you have pictures? I’m considering putting the same window visors on mine. Thanks!

Got a great deal on a full Katzkin leather interior. Hopefully I’ll be able to install next weekend.
Adding trailer hitch to carry the mountain bikes.
costed me 1700 $$ Canadian to put it on at the dealership
Took care of the glare coming off the trim piece above the radio.

Finally got around to fitting the perspex rear spoiler, from the Reebok and Freesport special editions, to mine :smile
Measured, marked, drilled and bolted on with 5 stainless M5 dome heads, much better than the factory sticky stuff, which eventually stops sticking.
Just finished fitting the red strut brace that was fitted to some special edition RAVs in the UK. Quite easy, thanks to advice in this thread https://www.rav4world.com/forums/84-4-1-accessories/100361-oem-front-strut-tower-brace.html

I did it slightly differently. Rather than just drill through the strengthening plate behind the firewall, I used a larger plate, which I drilled and tapped for M10. Using 3 bolts, 2 for the brace and 1 to hold the plate in place should you need to remove the brace.

Sounds like an excellent mod. How has the handling changed? How about a photo of the brace installed?
Can't edit my posts, so photos added here. Spoiler first -

Next, strut brace, showing extra bolt to hold the 50x80x8 mm (2x3x5/16) plate in place -

Not had a chance to drive it yet, but hoping for any improvement to the terrible (non-existant) steering feel.

Fitted some Bosch Pure Light HIR2 or 9012 bulbs. If you have a 98-00 RAV it's a good upgrade to your headlights, or so I've read. They do need a small mod to fit, but quite easy with a junior hacksaw, as I couldn't find my modeling saw. Link below.

I even stupidly cut the wrong side off one, so had to cut a bit more off and it still fits OK.
The Sylvania silverstar Ultra are meant to be the best, but I could only find them in the US, so with shipping and tax, not worth it.

Oh, you can even do your full beams, with a HIR1 or 9011.

That looks very nice , a better quality rear fairing than mine. Why is your battery and brakes on the wrong side of the engine campartment?
