What have you done to your RAV4 today?

I saw this on another site and figured to give it a try here at R4W. Pics are nice but not required. Tell us what you have done to your RAV4 today!

I'll start off first... I saw cat foot prints on my hood today. Decided I need to wash it this weekend.

It was 46 degrees today. I was able to wash all three cars including the BlackMobile. Glad to get that salt off...
Did you do the bottom of your car as well?
Otherwise 'that salt' still is on your car.
Not that it helps a bit, since you still seem to have ice on the side and thus loads of salt on the roads. But hey, it made you happy... ;)

No, I don't clean under the car. I do spray out the wheel wells.

Well, I decided to give my new gal a 'bath' today, her first ever, as I brought her home on December 15th. I put good car soap and hot water in my bucket, found a nice 100% cotton towel, tore it into a good size for washing, found my 3 foot extension arm for getting to the roof and put a warm coat on and rubber shoes, to head out into this sunny but 42 degree day. I unhooked my faucet cover, hooked my hose up and turned on the water. Damn, the water I did not know I left in the hose, was frozen solid and so the hose won't work. No water available for the pre rinse, or post wash rinse. Sigh... It has been in the 20s every night this week so I guess it should not be a surprise that the water in the hose has not thawed out just yet. Dang, I was excited to get the road dirt off of my new car. By Wednesday, we are supposed to have lows in the 40s so I will reschedule the christening bath for next weekend.
Yeah, got to drain the hose after use. Do you keep it in a garage or anything?
I have a hose on a reel, attached to the side of my house. When fall is coming to a close, I unscrew the hose extension and put a foam insulation cover over the faucet. This year, I thought I drained the hose but apparently I did not ;-) In the back, the hose reel is on wheels and I can roll it into the garage, though I did not do that this year. But it too is disconnected and the faucet has an insulated cover to keep the pipe from freezing. Maybe I will roll it into the garage this week, once it all thaws, and then, if I want to do this in another few weeks and the weather warms up enough to do the job, I can wheell the back hose out of the garage and use it up front, in case that hose is still frozen, though I will try and drain it by this weekend.

It is a pain in that it is DARK by the time I get home each evening from work and I cannot get much done outside right now, except on the weekends. But we have turned the corner and the light is a comin' ! ;-)

Do you garage your hose each winter? We don't get a lot of ice cold weather but, this winter is supposed to be a hard one, El Ninjo they say so I better gear up. I guess I can look at all the activity as something to do to keep me out of trouble

I have to bring my reel on wheels into the house every year. Left it in the garage one year( with hose removed and hanging). Still enough water in the innards to split things and in the spring when turning the water back on, water was spraying everywhere. Spoke to company and had to order replacement parts.

Yes, during the winter I garage it. I don't have a hose reel; I just wind it up manually. I have two hoses connected together to reach the spigot. When I'm done, I disconnect at the spigot and take off the sprayer. As I wind it up, I let it drain out the other end.
Well, now we all know what I'M doing this weekend ;-) Hose reel duty LOL
But I was truly disappointed that I could not wash my car on Sunday so the effort will be worth it. Thanks for the tip Rav N US and SB.

Stripping the emblems was last night.

I also added red filters to the three interior lights in order to not damage night vision when using the interior light or entering/exiting the Rav in the dark. :D:

Finally got a car wash.
Looks good NYPD. It's always nice to get that winter crap off the car!
It has just started snowing here in Seattle so the car wash event will wait once again. Sigh.... LOL There is a car wash right across the street from my office but it is one your drive through and the machines comes up to your car so I am NOT taking my brand new Rav4 though it. But I will admit to envy today when I watched cars come out and be toweled off and look so nice and clean and shiny. LOL

Need more powerful heater and windshield wipers so I don't have to wipe the snow off!

It was nice to climb up my driveway without shoveling it though lol. I made sure I turned my Traction Control off first this time, haha.
Just plug in the block heater for this night, -20C again.
It'll help the Rav tomorrow morning...and I will get heat in the cab sooner. :D:

It's only the 2nd time I used the block heater this year.

It work alright, thank you for asking.
I must say the temp. this morning was up to -12C when I left at 7:00 o'clock while it was still at -17C when I plug the heater some time after dinner last night.

But just the sound of the motor cranking which was souding like summertime was kind of relief of some sort.

But anyhow, I'm lucky I have to drive on a rural road for 7 km before I get onto a highway, so I have a chance to get every oil seal to get to temperarure (I believe) by starting driving quite slowly.
Temperature got above freezing yesterday so I got the hose out and sprayed the salt off from top to bottom . Light snow is falling today.
Goodyear Fortera TripleTred

Wade stick on window visors (Got all 4 but only stuck on the front 2)
Today after running it through the car wash, I vacuumed out the interior, treated the leather on the steering wheel and gearshift knob, and sprayed the undercarriage to make sure all the salt is gone. Even sprayed in the engine compartment where some road salt residue had built up.
The "Knight" got tinted, chrome handles, and a Kicker Sub installed yesturday, Today put 140 miles on Odometer and treated to a wash and pat down ... were both exhausted !!!
