Hello everyone,

Two months ago I took my car to Toyota dealership and they swap the tires and balance the car. I have wheel locks that came with my car. I'm having issue with my tire sensor and need to get the tire remove. I can't seem to locate the key to remove wheel lock. Is there a way to get another key ? I checked the glove compartment and where the spare tire is located to see if its there, but I didn't find it. Where else could the mechanic put it.

The vehicle came with the wheel locks so there was no package. So when i took my car for wheel alignment and rotation the service department rep asked me where was my wheel lock. I kept it in the spare tire compartment. As stated i need to replace one tire since I keep getting tire pressure warning light 1 - 2 days after putting air. I filed complaints with the dearlership and got in contact with Toyota US. A manager for dearlership called me. Telling me that mechanic have a master key to remove the wheel locks and they don't need the customer key. So I told him if that was true then why the rep told me the mechanic need the wheel lock and tell him where it was. He came out saying that the rep asked me to see if I still have it. He then tell me that he can have it replace but I will need to purchase the wheel locks not charge on labor, i was already on their part department website and it was going for $36.00 for new set of wheel locks. He comes out saying it costs $80 but he can bring it down to $60.00 . I confronted him about why they are selling the wheel locks for $36.00. He makes the excuses that website provides discounts that dealers don't get. So I told him that I could purchase parts from the same place they do services and I would pay a cheaper price then if the mechanic requests the parts from the parts department ? He told me yes, that it is cheaper for customer to get the parts from their part departments then for them to get it themselves. I told him that they are ripping off customers. I will get the wheel locks and have them replace later this week, but never again will I be taking my vehicle to this service department.
