Jason,

I asked the same question in my thread:

- V6 Leather not in New England? 30-60 days for any v6?

On 1/31, the sales manager told me it wasn't coming for 30-60 days. The next day, the saleman I'm woking with told me by 2/15.

So, what's the real deal?

I'm in Toronto Canada. I was told Feb 20/06 according to the paper work that my dealer had. He then indicated that it was moved up to Feb 15th when he checked on their system.

I just hope to have the v6 by the end of the month.

I put a deposit on one in the middle of January. I called the salesman yesterday and he said it should be at the port on 2/8 and at the dealership around the 13th...we'll see.

Three cheers for Kelly!!! Hip hip huzzah!!! :D

I wonder if they've had similar difficulties at the east coast ports? :?

Still no V6's in my immediate area and being a major metropolitan area with over three dozen different Toyota dealerships within an hour's drive, just didn't add up... Then I found out that Toyota's Baltimore port closed three years ago and they consolidated northward to the one in Newark, New Jersey... Not sure that's a good thing... Definitely not for speed of delivery, as far as I'm concerned...

Dianne's getting a little lazy with her photos  The silver one on the above link is a I4. The V6 has a fairly LARGE "V6" emblem on the lower left side of the front grill 8)

In the Philadelphia area a dealer informed me 2 weeks ago that RAV4 V6 wouldn't arrive till middle of March. A Rep at the Phila Auto Show said on 2/8 they would be around in about 3 weeks.

Just got a call from the dealer, this is like pulling teeth. I ordered my loaded V6 Limited in December the I4's were even on the ground yet. Anyway, he said mine should be on the ground 3/20/06 I not holding my breath, I live on the south west coast of Florida. There must be some backlog somewhere. Why can't they move cars faster? IF I DIDN'T GET SO CHEAP I'D BE IRATE. I 'm going to ask him if I can borrow an I4 demo till mine comes in. This did work a few years ago when I bought a new BMW had a demo for about six weeks.

V6 available in San Diego

Well, at least one dealer has a V6 for sale now. I just test drove a Flint Mica V6 4X2 Sport on Saturday at a local dealer. It was the first and only one the dealer had. The night before that I took a test drive of an I4 4X4 Base at another dealer. That dealer said that they would not get a V6 until mid March and acted like they were not available yet (I didn't mention to them that the other dealer had one). Heck, even on the lot where they actually had the V6 several salespeople told me they didn't have one until I told them that Guest Services had called me and guaranteed that one was available. Looks like Toyota has some serious communication issues with their dealers.

Anyways, on to the test drives...
I drove the 4 cylinder through a lot of canyon areas in San Diego with some pretty steep hills and I was impressed. I thought the acceleration and power were more than adequate for the car and didn't leave me really wanting for more.

I could definitely feel the power difference in the v6. The gas feels very touchy in comparison and you could feel that the car really wanted to go. I wasn't watching RPMs or time, but getting to 70 on a short onramp to the freeway was almost too easy. I goosed it at 70, and there was still a lot of power waiting to take me up to 90 before I got cross looks from the dealer and let up with a lot of juice left to go. I can't imagine you will ever feel a lack of power in this car.

Having said all that about the V6, I think it was kind of overkill... if you bought the I4, I think you have a more than adequate engine, the extra power of the V6 is just for fun/bragging rights to me because unless your towing, I just don't think it is a necessity.

I'm going to be putting in an order for a black or Pacific Blue I4 Limited 4X2, as the fuel economy differences vs my personal need for power leans towards the mpg. Besides, I have a lead foot, so a V6 is just going to get me in trouble.

Oh, one last thing, I really don't know anything about hp, seeing as how the Rav4 will be replacing my 1989 Honda Civic. Heck, the only thing I can beat off the line has been a bicycle/Ford Escort.

The dealer I’ve been working with called on 2/10/06 and said that they were getting delivery of two V6 Sports. I reserved one. I was told that they expected delivery in about 3 weeks, which would make it March 3. They said that it might be sooner. That isn’t to say that there aren’t some elsewhere in this area (Albany NY area), or that some might be delivered sooner to other local dealers. I’ll let you know when it comes in. It seems strange that the backwaters of this area would be ahead of the bigger areas (Philly, NY, Boston, DC, etc) for delivery. I suspect that some of the V6’s have already been snatched up.

Well, the dealer (Fitzgerald) called and said my wifes V6 is in New York under 2 1/2 feet of snow. They hope to get it in Maryland by the end of the week, but I'm not hopeful.

As of now, fitzmall doesnt seem to be the best deal. I got mine for $100 over invoice and wait till my brother posts his deal tonight. No one will beat it for awhile. Lets just say $100s less than invoice.

The dealers I talked to are not as willing to deal on the V6's as they are on the 4's. My local dealers (Arkansas) are not coming off MSRP at all. I probably could have scouted around a little more and saved a few bucks, but I'm happy with the deal I got at Fitz ($2000 off MSRP, Limited 4x4). Let the thaw begin....
