Looks like on my I4 with a 4 speed auto 2,000 rpm is some where between 55mph and 60 mph.

Sooo..

For those of you with the V6 and a 5 speed auto, what is your speed at 2,000 rpm :?:

Yep, 55-60 is well below 2000 rpm. Wife never lets me drive it, but 55MPH is close to 1500-1600 rpm ...if I remember right.

Differential number is same for both v6 and I4 with AWD. Ratio is a little lower, (bigger number) for v6 than I4 if they are 2wd.
V6 has much lower rpm gearing in 5th .77 vs 1.02 for I4 in 4th. 70 is about 2000 rpm with V6

I have a pdf with lots of detail RAV4 specs but do know how to post it here.

I can see where the great highway mileage is coming from for the V6.

It is hardly working at highway speeds.

Most of my highway driving with 5AT is around 75-80mph with the tachs around 2000-2400rpms. :D I just shift over to 4th when I need some quick passing power.

Hmmm, looks like adding the rear sway bar and/or the heavier front sway bar of the 3rd seat models to the non-3rd seat models would be a way of improving handling without having to wait for the aftermarket to catch up.

Thx Jim and SW!!
