Hello,
I currently have one for sale in Reno. Take a look at the craigslist ad -
1996 Toyota Rav4 2Door 4WD 5Speed Manual - cars & trucks - by owner...
It is a rare 2-door full-time AWD 5-speed model with two removable sunroofs and center locking differential. It has modest mileage now at 186,000 miles and still runs and drives excellently. It runs incredibly smooth and straight on highways. The car is very clean with no rust, it has fantastic visibility and is highly maneuverable. There are no mechanical issues with the car.
This car is one of the most fun cars I have ever owned. It is incredibly zippy, can park anywhere, and is more than capable down a dirt road. I use it to drive to work and mountain bike trailheads. The full-time AWD system also provides excellent traction and control in the snow. It is also one of the most singular, unique, and novel vehicles I have ever owned. Just look at how cute it is! I am stopped regularly when individuals are intrigued by the car. They have never seen one before and I am always delighted to tell them about it.
Another fun fact, the Toyota Rav4 was named Automobile of the Year by Automobile Magazine in 1997. They had this to say about it: "The Toyota Rav4 is our 1997 Automobile of the Year because it is fun to drive, fun to ride in, fun to contemplate… bringing a sea change in the way the automobile industry and its customers perceive sport utility vehicles."
I purchased the car at 155,000 Miles in 2018. I take good care of it with regular oil changes, preventative maintenance and other when needed. Timing belt was done preventatively at 161634 miles. All service has been done at Toyota dealerships. I have all receipts from the previous owner, as well as any service or maintenance work I have had completed for the car. I am now the 4th owner. I was told the original owner was the SF Toyota owner. The car has No damage history. There are small dings from parking lot damage and rocks as is normal. The car came with a Thule roof rack which was replaced with a stock Toyota roof rack for authenticity. Never smoked in. It is sitting on Sparco Terra wheels with K02 Tires and a full size spare to match.
Since I love this car so much, over the years I have owned it, I have collected 30+ craigslist ads for similar 5-speed 2-door AWD Rav4's. I averaged the mileage and price of the ads and considered the condition of my vehicle to arrive at a fair market value of $7500.
