Was on the lot today and came across a 2014 in Blizzard Pearl sitting next to a 2014 in White. The Blizzard Pearl had $395 Special Color on the sticker sheet and the two look completely different. Just confused because the Toyota site doesn't even have plain white as an exterior color option. The Blizzard Pearl is gorgeous!

Its worth the $395 imo.

I believe the Pearl White is only available in the Limited trim while the White is available in the LE and XLE trims

^ Heard the same on other boards that I frequent!

Until you require body work with paint matching.

The Blizzard Pearl, or any other metallic clear coat white, is almost impossible to match. Body shops hate trying to repair metallic clear coat white and you'll likely never be satisfied with the results.
That is totally wrong or the shop is just lazy as hell or does not know what they are doing.

Why you ask?

My rav4 and my 2010 Prius have the exact same blizzard pearl, and yes we love the color and it was 400 more back then for our Prius, back then when the 2010s came out in 2009 to be exact, I had to track down a white blizzard pearl with technology package, I did find one in my area being delivered to a Toyota dealership 45 minutes from me.

We went down and put money on it and waited 2 weeks for it to arrive, 2 days after it arrived at my dealer, my dealer called me and told me that someone backed into the rear on my blizzard white pearl Prius that I did not even take delivery of yet, so they sent it to the repair shop, luckily it was only scratches on the bumper, but the shop repainted the entire rear, and to this day it looks just like factory, like it never got painted at all, that was one of the agreement that as long as I owned the car , if it showed any signs of fading or anything I could take it back for free repaint.

Well it has been just perfect, and nobody could ever tell unless I told them, because looking at it, as I did for 5 years now, I almost forgot about it till I read this thread.

So the moral of this story is if a body shop. Says they can't match a blizzard white pearl car perfectly, leave them fast, no run away and let everyone know that that place sucks! No matter what car you take there would be hacked.

So please stop spending the false info about blizzard white pearl.
Thank you all!!

I hope this puts that to bed finally.

Yea that's what bigbird1 is saying about the matching. You got a few scratches in a bumper and they had to re-paint the entire rear of the car!!

Maybe matching isn't the best word, how about blending?

So with a basic color only the affected area needs to be re-pained, with a color like this pearl a much larger area needs to be re-painted for it to look right again. Which means more money. It's not about fading.

Glad I'm out of MA......

Had the rear bumper on the Venza replaced 3 years ago and the paint on the bumper is like 2 shades whiter than the Blizzard Pearl on the rest of the car.

That has not been my experience. I have blizzard pearl and had to t have two new front fenders and bumper/ grill replaced after hitting two deer (yes, two at same time). Body shop did a great job and matched color perfectly.

I am sure they blended it in to side doors and hood but there is absolutely no mismatch in color shade anywhere.

I was covered by insurance so I cannot say what if any extra cost was involved vs. a standard color.

I should have specified so no assumptions was made sorry, but my entire rear bumper was scratched, and that is what they repainted, and on a Prius it is the majority of the rear end, but no they did not paint anything else, cause they knew what they were doing. :smile

That sucks, and you should spread the word about them! I would take it back and show the owner what a crappy job they did, you went to someone that obviously doesn't know what they are doing and I would be:mad:

The 2014 Arctic White is a VERY White , white. The Pearl is not really a white. It's "Pearl." We love Arctic White for 2014 on our XLE. I believe Pearl is only on Limiteds. I agree it's worth extra $ just be careful. "ANY" touch work, or blending will be impossible get perfect. That is the price you pay for gorgeous paint with metal flake.

:smile

When I bought my Blizzard Pearl Limited it had some serious hits on the front bumper that removed the paint entirely. It was, and still is, matched perfectly. In all honesty the guy half assed it initially and left a great thumb print :)shrug:) right in the middle of the repair so I refused to buy the car. That was quickly sorted and still looks perfect.

Point being it may be more difficult to repair but that does not mean that it cannot be done correctly.

The Bilzzard Pearl is hard to match when you have a accident, Even factory OEM colored parts is not the same. I had 2011 Limited Blizzard Pearl and had a Near ended accident, I bring it back to the Toyota dealer to repair the body work since I don't have to pay for the repair. The repair out come is more Pearl color than my original paint on my near door. The Factory OEM replacement that spare tire cover and around it is more White than original too. That drive me crazy. If the dealer body shop did not able to do 100% match, Please put it on your list to watch out. I traded in my 2011 to 2013 Blue Limited for trying other color.

I guess if you go for the Limited, why give Blizzard Pearl a try because that color is only offer in Limited trim. And I still love Blizzard Pearl.

Enjoy....

We have a 2004 Sienna Limited with Blizzard Pearl. Unfortunately it has seen the body shop a few times and so far all the painting has matched perfectly. I don't think it is hard to match if you have a reasonably skilled painter. It's well worth the cost. If you're getting bad results with your repairs then you need to find a new shop, not run from a beautiful color. I prefer a metal flake paint since they seem to resist fading much greater than a flat paint.
