I found out today that the Toyota app can display tire pressures, at least on our 2020 RAV4 Limited. Open the Toyota App and click on the tiny down arrow immediately to the right of the words "My Garage". Scroll down and click on "Tire Pressure".

I don't know how current the information is and it doesn't appear to update after the car is turned off (we got home 3 hours ago and the tires are still showing what look like hot pressures).

Now if I can get it stop telling me I have low tire pressures when they are all 36 or 37 PSI and I reset the sensors when the pressure was about 35.

I've been using the Toyota app for a few months now, it's never shown a cold pressure, only warm pressure after a drive, so all it's really good for is to let you know if you have low pressure after driving, never what it is before, it's not even consistent as has been said, I run mine at a confirmed 38psi, sometimes it shows one or two tires low, other times they'll all be the same at 39psi or 40psi, last time the fronts were a pound higher than the rear, on top of that ever since it quit working for '20 owners, Toyota has been trying to fix it for them and has broke it for everyone more than a couple times, it would be nice if they fix it once and for all.

Has anyone installed one of the dedicated TPMS displays from Aliexpress? They look super clean but so far I haven't see anything that supports 2019/2020 RAV4 Hybrids.

Didn't know they made this. Just purchased and will have it by Feb 26th. I'll report back if no one else does.
Heck yes. Way to take one for the team and try it. I assumed it would work.

You Nailed It

Idiot light or psi guage, when you get a flat from a road hazard it makes little difference. If you had a nail or similar, hit a pot hole, etc. and the tire went flat while the car was parked, an analog or digital gauge would have not have given you any more time. You weren't there to monitor any type of display. The light comes on in our car at about 26 psi. If it is the result of normal air loss, plenty of time to top up the tire. TPSMs are a great tool, but not a panacea. Sometimes stuff happens.
panecea? oh yeah!! first sentence totally true, rest of comment meh...fyi, i've been saved from destroying a tire by running it too low numerous times....screws, etc cause slow leaks, i've had 4 in past 6 months and am too old and forgetful to circle the car every time i drive. even then i may not be able to see the difference between 30+ psi and 20....the big times have been on the road when i saw the one tire go down to 26 psi and was able to pull over at the next stop and fill the slowly leaking tire....kept doing that for several days, looking at the psi on the dash beats the hell out of putting a gauge on the valve!! another time i left the house and one block later saw right rear at 15 lbs, it'd leaked overnight, a screw, went back home, filled from air compressor, then took it to tire shop, they fixed it. fyi, i couldn't tell by driving that tire was almost flat...won't own a car wo tpms...

There's another reason not to leave an OBDII adapter in the port, most will drain the battery faster than others, some don't, usually the more expensive units from my research have battery saving features, there are some that are also low profile, the OBDLink LX has worked well for me with Hybrid Assistant plugged in semi-permanently and it works fast with Tire Assistant.

OBDLink® LX Bluetooth | OBDLink® | OBD Solutions
Definitely drains the battery.

Owned an OBD2 reader unit(wireless bluetooth) unit already. $23 on Amazon and their are even less expensive ones. Tire Assistant is very cool and works. No need to get out a guage and wear out the knees of my pants. Wasn't even sure that I had tpms after owning the car for over 6 months , but recently found out it's on all RAV 4s. Works on my 2015 Corolla also. Totally cool tech. I would pass on the Toyota app since you have to jump through hoops and register. You do need Android on your phone with Tire Assistant.
Also works with Carista free version.
