Trying to decide between these tires. I'm looking for a quite comfortable tire.

Anyone installed these tires and can share their experience? Thanks

Aren't LTXs light truck tires for pickups and large SUVs and not appropriate for our RAV4s?

If they are available in the right size (or at least a close size) then one could use them. However they would likely ride much worse than a more appropriate tire, and will likely be much heavier too, resulting in more unsprung weight. That said, it really depends on his driving needs - there are some of us who could use the load range of some LT tires! Lol

Upgraded to large from brakes and 3rd row rear springs.

Another factor is Load Range and consequently tire pressure. The Defender LTX M/S2s on my 3/4 Ton F-250 are Load Range E with a max pressure of 80 PSI. I need the Es because I have a truck camper on it and tow a 20 FT trailer with probably 350 LBS of tongue weight.
I can't imagine even putting D Load Range tires, the kind that come on 1/2 Ton Pickups, on our RAV4. At anywhere near their 65 PSI max pressure they'd ride pretty rough. The Coopers our RAV4 does have are rated "Standard Load" with a max pressure of 44 PSI. They ride quite smooth and quiet at 35 PSI IMO.

With the LTXs you could be the only RAV4 owner who thinks they have an LT (light truck).

New to the forum, picking up a 2010 RAV4 v6 later this week and saw your question while researching. Michelin LTX are great tires. Had them on my tundra delivery truck, still had 4/32 at 80,000 when we replaced them. Good all season traction and fairly quiet. FYI, I’m also a big fan of Falken tires, great performance at a good price point. The CT60 is excellent and if you want an AT style tire without the weight and noise try an AT trail. Also the LTX is available in non-LT sizes.
