Honestly I'd find it hard to believe that adding things to the tank is going to clean injectors. Either it is strong enough to dislodge sediment from the lines and tank and clog the injectors orrrr it just doesn't do anything.

I'd like to be proved wrong because it would make cleaning the injectors a lot easier

But I think the best way is that machine that hooks to the fuel rail or removing the injectors and cleaning them individually

If a vehicle was operated using off-brand/old-stock (wrong season)/... fuel, maybe it would help. Brand-name gasoline has plenty of additive "packages," and fresh fuel should not clog things. And maybe if the fuel filter(s) are clogged, a strong solvent might increase the flow through (but better is to replace the filter).

However, that said, I've heard good things about Chevron's Techron. Tried it in a couple of vehicles, but can't say I've noticed any difference.

The car wasn't driven for 2 years before I purchased it. I do gas station audits at brand name gas stations so that's what goes in my cars. My Sienna has more pep with Bp, the prius seems to like Shell and the jury is out on the Ravy. I did notice more pick up after the additive. I have tried Tretron in the past. The sienna had a issue and it went away with adding Lucas to bp gas or putting high test Bp gas in thee.

My AWD RAV4.1 definely runs better on mid-grade than regular (89 vs. 87 R+M/2 here). Long-ago sold FWD 4.1 ran fine on regular -- the AWD is heavier and has more rolling resistance.

I have had several cars in the past where a shock dose of Techron cleared up a rough idle and they ran better overall. This was back when there was only one Techron additive. With all the variations currently on the shelf it's a bit confusing.

Both our '10 Honda CR-V and '11 RAV4 V6 and also my '07 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 have had steady diets of discount 87 gas with no problems. All gasoline sold in the U.S. is required to have a mandated level of cleaning additives. Top tier gas reportedly has a higher level. Have every year or so put Techron into my RAV4, haven't noticed any difference. So far my verdict about Techron additive benefit is - maybe . . . But if it works for other users go for, it even though as RTexasF notes with more formulations available selecting what might be best can be difficult.
