Has anyone had a cover for their tow-hook holes randomly fall off their bumper?

The day before I took a road trip, the plastic cover was still there (I checked because I was examining the car for bug carnage on the front end of the car). Within 24 hours, the upper half of the cover was gone.

It's not a surprise it's gone, given how flimsily those covers fitted in the first place. I just hope this isn't a chronic problem.

Hello , Would you be so kind as to take a few pictures and take some measurements as to where the actual threads are to screw in the eyebolts for us .? I read that all Rav4.s have the threaded hole behind the bumper cover and some have created access to it if one knew where to drill a hole . It would be nice to have the ability to use the eyebolts for tying down a canoe or hooking up a tow strap to pull it when stuck etc.

All you have to do is remove the front bumper cover and see if you have them:

A local dealership quoted me $97 (Canadian currency) to replace the missing cover with a painted cover (that's US$74). The part is only C$20, but the painting adds C$77 to that.

That's expensive for a small piece of plastic, so I'm going the warranty route. These pieces shouldn't randomly fall out (I was parked in no place where someone could access it). Meanwhile, I examined its counterpart and found that its little plastic tie that's supposed to be looped through the holder wasn't looped through, which makes me think the part that fell off also wasn't properly secured. Sounds like a warrany issue to me.
