Hey guys,

I've had this issue on thr front right wheel where if I drive it for a while and when I brake I'll hear like a metal on metal grinding sound. Sounds almost like worn pads rubbing againtst the rotors but

I've already had the brake pads replaced as well as the rotors so I don't think that is the issue. I've had the wheel alignment done as well.

What else can I check on my end to see whats causing it? Seems to only happen after I drive it for a bit and doesn't happen when I first start driving it.

Thanks

As above, check the dust shield.

When you had the brakes done, did it include a full caliper service? Clean/lube the slide pins, check and lube the pad "ears" ? Are all the bolts torqued to spec?

Just my 2p worth

The only thing to do is take the wheel off and remove the pads. See if it is wearing properly and installed right. As mention by Bigphil555 the caliper slide pins may be seized. Mechanics usually skip cleaning and putting new grease on the slide pins. Also some low quality disc pads are bad and may make noises.

Second checking to make sure calipers slide smoothly. If not remove clean and lube guide pins or replace calipers if it’s too bad.

Brake pads with a lot of metalics can also make noise.

If it’s more of a squealing noise check to make sure the hardware that the pads slide on isn’t too loose / touching the rotor, I had that issue with aftermarket pads and had to bend them a little to fit the caliper without moving.
