I am looking for a 2023 Rav4 Hybrid but without moon roof or sunroof. I want to have more head room and to not sacrifice the space. I also don't like the LE trim. Anyone knows if I can find XLE or limited with metal roof?
Thanks

The XLE, by default, does not have a moonroof - it's included in the Convenience Package. That said, at least in my part of the world, the vast majority of XLEs seem to have both the Weather and Convenience packages. That's what I'd look for on the build sheet with the dealer.

All Limiteds come with the standard moonroof, with the panoramic roof as an option.

You might also look at the Woodland trim - a moonroof is not available at all on that trim, and it's otherwise equipped fairly similarly to the XLE.

I'm fairly tall (6'1") with a long upper torso (extra vertebrae...go figure) but I don't find the headroom in my Limited too "limited"...I guess it really comes down to how high you want to raise the drivers seat? That said, I do find the door sill is a tad low and I have to be careful about not banging my head when I get in, but once I do there's no problem. If it was a problem the only realistic option was to go for the Highlander.

I could do without a sunroof. Twice what I wanted to load wouldn’t fit because of the drop that it creates. I had to go home and get the truck to get it. Once I had to pay $200 to get a desk delivered because it wouldn’t fit by an inch. The height of the rear seat didn’t help either.
I drove the 300TD for ten years and never used the sunroof on that. I don’t like the wind noise. I don’t like the sun on my head. I’ve seen enough images of SUVs on their roofs that it makes me wonder if a sunroof makes it more dangerous.

I agree with you. I've ordered cars like a 2000 Audi S4 and a 2021 BMW X3M Competition specifically WITHOUT a sunroof (although the former required me waiting months more to obtain it). I tried to get our 2022 RAV4 XLE ICE without the sunroof (and power rear hatch) but with the cold weather package but it seemed almost impossible and I just couldn't wait any longer. Here's why I don't like a sunroof:

1) more weight
2) higher center of gravity
3) less head room
4) more potential for leaks
5) not as "clean" with washing and waxing
6) glass overhead in the unlikely event of a roll over or other problematic situatioin
7) one more thing to break
8) adds to cost
9) like you, I don't like the sun on my head and the wind noise

My 1982 Cutlass Supreme Brogham had a sunroof that I thought was pretty cool at first but after the novelty wore off I never used it. When it was probably 10 years old the gasket failed and started to leak. I got two quotes for repair that were close to the same price. Ended up taking it to the dealership because it was easier to get to.
They called me and told me that it would be $1000 to fix it instead of the $225 they originally quoted. I told them don’t touch it and ended up taking it to the sunroof specialist shop who got it done for the quoted price.

This shows that there is additional repair cost associated to a sunroof.

I’ve been told horror stories about mechanisms failing. Drains plugging. And they seem to just shatter for no known reason.

What are the advantages? Well, you can look up at the sky while you are driving. And, um, that’s all I have.

Our XLE also came with a sunroof and we have the shade open as long as the sun is not directly shining onto the driver or it's not burning hot. When you live in the Pacific NW, you crave all the light you can get any time of year but especially during our three seasons called fog, rain, and drizzle. Unfortunately, our fourth season is called road construction...
