Sorry for another question for you guys that are in the know. My new to me 2007 V6 has what I think is the original oil line with the rubber piece, there is no yellow mark on the line and from what I've read that means it's the original line, 160,000kms. I was hoping to pick up a Dorman replacement line part# 917-023. I've called around every parts place that I can think of and nobody can find the Dorman part in Canada. I've also tried a few parts places in the US, Rock Auto, Amazon, O'reilleys and nobody has any stock. The replacement Toyota part is around $160.00 according to one parts guy I spoke to. So my question is: Does it fail often? Or is one of those the sky is falling you better replace it asap things? Would replacing just the rubber part be a good solution at least until I can locate the Dorman part? Not sure what diameter of hose and clamps I'll need though.

Replace it! It's not worth the cost of an engine. Forget the Dorman part, OEM is better and cheaper. Got it for 40 CAD after tax at my local dealer. Don't tell them what car you're putting it on they may not want to sell it to you as you have a 2007. However, this line will as I and others have found out fits all 2GR-FEs from 05+

Bank 1 (rear) VVT-i all-metal oil line: 15772-31030
Crush washer: 90430-16016 x2

I agree with 2011BaseV6. Definitely go with the factory parts which 2011BaseV6 listed. They cost me $42 at my local dealer earlier this year when I put the new line on my 2007. A rubber hose under the hood will eventually fail. Maybe it will last another 160,000kms or maybe it will fail tomorrow. The problem is that when this hose fails, if you don't realize it and get the engine shut down very, very quickly, it will likely be destroyed.

Thanks for the reply, I'll call my dealer tommorow and see if they have stock. Clicking on the number you've listed it looks different? Pipe #1 further down the page looks similar 15771-31030? Can you confirm?

On that Lexus page, there are two images, and the second image looks like the correct part. Here's another link through a Toyota dealer. The part number is 15772-31030.

If you mean 15771-31010 - that is the front VVT-i oil cooler line which is all-metal since 05+ for all 2GR-FEs. 15772-31030 is the correct line, I have installed two so far without issue. (One on 2007, and another on 08). Make sure to use new crush washers and torque to 32 ft lbs

Yes, did this on both cars. It's better to just get the one-piece combined one for all
