Some good vids on YouTube about transfer the guts from one old fob key to new. Here’re my notes after I completed the task and key work good (knock on wood)
1- I ordered two keys from Amazon for $27
2- The immobilizer in my RAV4 is not really glued or anything. It’s snug/tight fitted in Thai tiny place. Use a rather blade to free it from its place. No need for heat
Then get tiny thin flat head screw driver (like the one you would use to tighten medical glasses screws ) and keep prying the immobilizer chip
3- I took the blanc key to Walmart and told them to cut it on my own risk because they refuse at the beginning due to liability, etc. they cut it but the key was not perfect cut. Could me older machine or the dude. So one key damaged, no issue. I took the second blanc key to Home Depot since they have a digital machine. He stuck my master key in their machine and it gave him code #35. Which mean the machine can cut a key. Now he wanted to make their own key, so after I told home I’ll pay for your key but cut mine on my own risk. He agreed. The key came awesome (knock on wood)
That’s it.
funny thing I called the local Toyota dealership and he told me the key without remote is $200 and with remote $250 and programming of either one is $140
I also called couple local locksmith and cheapest was $220 for programmed Fob Key
I got mine done (but with old guts from the old one) for about $30
Thanks you all

Good to hear you got it working. Much cheaper than a dealer.

If you plan on keeping your rav for any amount of time I would highly recommend you get the Mini vci cable and Techstream. It really comes in handy if you do work on your car. It's actually a lite version of what Toyota dealers use to diagnose your car.

Thanks a lot.
Here's a good thread on making an extra key with techstream

I have 2011 RAV4 base model and broke my remote control key.
I went to the dealer and got key without remote and they program it
Now I want to buy and program a key that has a remote in it.
There is a key on Amazon

is there an instruction to program the key without going to locksmith or the dealer
Thanks

I’m a bit confused. Are the above instructions just for programming the lock/unlock and panic buttons or will they actually enable the key to start the engine? I have seen many posts saying techstream is required to program a new key so I am a bit confused.
