I am looking to get a good set of floor mats to protect my new RAV4's carpets. In my previous car I had a set of Weather Tech that I liked but they don't seem to be available for the RAV.

Also, with an ash interior should I go with gray or black?

Weather Tech makes two sets of floor mats for the RAV so I don't know where you got your information. They also have a mat for the rear area. Your call on the color.

What's the difference between floor mat and floor liner? I have been looking at getting a set from costco (online) but i think they are floor mats. $119.99 for front and 2nd row, i thought it was a great deal. ??
The liners are rubberised material with raised edges to catch water and melted snow and hold it until it can be dumped or sponged out, rather than soaking the underlying fabric mat.

I got the Lloyd clear mats. They came today. The website says that you can use them over the existing but the paperwork that came with them says you can't. So I took the OEM ones out and put them in the storage compartment. The passenger side front one is a lot bigger on the sides than it should be otherwise they are a good fit. Not sure how I feel about using clear plastic mats, but it's better than getting the really expensive original ones dirty!

Thumbs up on the WeatherTech.. I have had the LINERS for years in my last couple of vehicle's and have been more than happy with them. You just can't beat the protection that they offer. Especially in the winter months.

Anyone got more input on black versus gray?
I have the gray interior, and if I were buying them, I would go with black. I've seen pictures of the gray ones and they don't match the gray interior when new, and seem to look stained and dirty after some use.

Just wanted to comment on the color for Rosy. I have a 2012 Rav with the tan (sand ash) interior. I did not like the color match for the tan mats. It was just off-color enough to look odd. I went with the black WeatherTech digi-fit liners for the front and second row. I also got the custom fit cargo liner in black. Given the trim of the car being so dark, the black mats just look sharp. Way better than a color that just isn't a match.

The digi-fit mats have worked great for me. I drove a 2011 Rav4 for about 6 months. This car didn't have floormats, so I purchased the digi-fit mats. When pulled them out of the 2011 to place in my 2012 the fit was perfect and the carpet in the car I was returning was pristine. The mats are wonderful.

Color choice is a personal preference, but know that your gray probably won't be a perfect match for the interior carpet. Will that bother you?

Rear Cargo Mat 2012

The RAV4 Limited that we traded (2007) had a rear cargo mat that was reversible, one side rubber other side carpet. The OEM part for the 2012 is: pt208-42060-31(Ash). Is that mat reversible? The price at the dealer seems a little high--over $100.00. Has anyone bought a reversible rear cargo mat online? Where? Thanks.

Yes, that's the same one I have in my 2008. It's the same part number from 2006-2012 and is reversible. You can get it cheaper online:
