So I am looking at buying winter tires very soon. My stock XSE tires are P235/55R19 but I want to go down to 18" wheels for more sidewall and cheaper tires.

The stock SE tire is P225/60R18 but when you compare the circumference of the tires they are not the same.

To get within like 0.3% of my speedo/odometer reading I need to bump to a P235/60R18 and then it's nearly perfect, as close as I'm going to get.

1. How many folks here are actually just running with the speedo inaccurate with the 225 tires? Do most people just not care if there speedo is out by like 2-3%?
2. Why do 235/60R18 tires have to cost so much more? LOL

I think I will go for the P235/60R18 just so my speedo/odo is extremely accurate. I am planning on going for Michelin X-Ice North 4 or Toyo Observe G3 or perhaps even General Altimax Arctic 12 (studded). I have the Observe G3 studded on my kids Yaris and it is a tank in the snow so yeah...

What is the recommendation for the 18" tires, P225/60 or P235/60? I'm thinking about dropping down from 19" wheels. I noticed that the 235's have a closer numerical fit to the speedometer but what about appearance and performance? Anyone drive P235/60 tires and have pictures? I'm not looking for snow tires or off-road tires, as I live in the Sunbelt, so it will be primarily for regular driving.
