Wish I could help, but I never got mine and had to call my credit card company to cancel the order. Wish there was another place to buy it from besides China.

Went to the dealer and they told me they couldn't change the door lock setting via TechStream. Thinking about ordering this product but I was wondering if anyone else had feedback after extended usage. Thanks!
The one I bought for my wife sometimes does not auto lock the doors when I shift out of park. I have to shift it back to park then to D or R whichever direction I am going. When it does not lock the door when I shift out of park I just drive till the speed reaches 15km/hr then the auto lock feature engages.

Oh well, I got what I paid for. :)

works a treat

Guys I brought this one :p

OBD2 Canbus Speed Lock Device FOR Toyota B1262 B 4 | eBay

Works a treat, does extra things like if you had your head lights on, it would leave head lights on for few seconds when you got out so you could see.

It locks depending on different scenarios, not just when in reverse or park etc.

Happy with unit so far no issues, took 2 seconds to install.

PS: Only concern is it could cause issues with airbag deployment BCM etc etc ? Unless airbag deployment is purely on the airbag sensors only and not the BCM CANBUS ?

You can avoid this module with a relay setup see attached pdf.

Hey guys,
What is the main difference between all these ebay items? I mean how come each one have a different letter in front of 1262? Then there's the B@2 B@3 B@4...etc.. are they just the same thing with bunch of mumbo jumbo letter and numbers?

Would like to get one.

Thanks

At this point I don't know if I want to take the chance that this "gadget" will somehow screw things up with the car. Its to bad Toyota doesn't have an OEM part that will do the same thing. I was told when I bought the car new that the dealer had no such thing.

Well. I can understand where you coming from. Its a comfort kinda thing. But at the same time, others had it since beginning of this thread and it seems to do just fine. I would get it for myself but have to make sure which one first.

You can always use a relay manual in post

Hi guys,

Difference is you have different lock conditions and the extra features. I don't know exactly what is difference is but it will basically auto lock your car as its the main function of all the units.

I found a DIY manual how to wire relay for RAV4 to trigger autodoor lock when put in reverse if you don't want to use the device. Its a very simple solution and wont interfere with CANBUS system.

I didnt have time thats why I brought the autolock plug thing. It does extra stuff like, flashes the lights when you open the door so road users etc can see you opening the door. It also turns on high beam when it detects headlights have been used. E.g at night.

I brought it so the new baby doesn't open the door hehehe or get car jacked but I suppose I could just use the child lock thing on the door. car jacking was an excuse to experiment ;)

Relay Manual; Can someone try and provide feedback. takes less than one hour to do.

But it doesn't unlock when u go back to Park and shuts off. Thats the understanding from reading through that replay mod. The Pulse generator auto lock on the other hand works better. You can have it lock with Ign ON then unlock when Ign OFF. Little more time to do it though.. make more sense to do it that way. Assuming this CANBUS thing is not for long term deal. I did read one member who bought the canbus piece to have it die 46 days later. Then there are others who report no issue.

I've been using this device for 6 months now and it's still working great!

James,
Are those the same thing as the one I linked to ebay earlier up? The ebay one has too many different numbers and letter. 1262 stays the same.. descriptions are exactly same on all of those ebay item. I'm assuming they are all the same. No model number though.

Wilco. Already received Track & Trace details this morning. The seller is quite reputable, and (like many other 'professional' eBay sellers) *very* keen on receiving positive feedback on the deal. "If you have a problem, contact US - do NOT start a dispute without contacting us first!" . . They have a 99.4% positive feedback score and don't want it to drop, that's clear.

Delivery will take up to a month they claim, but then again postage was included so I guess that's part of the deal. I ordered parts before directly in China, most of the time they arrived within 2 weeks though.

door lock set to auto lock when vehicle moving

Hi, I am new to the RAV4 WORLD. I have a 2011 rav4 with the v-6 and is a limited edition with the NAVIGATION system and the VIP security system.
you can set the door lock to the lock position when the vehicle is out of park and unlock when is in park. Can anyone explain how it works.
jp5527 Thanks!

I have looked in Techstream for this feature for my wife's 2010 Base RAV4 and found nothing. I can enable this or disable it on my 2009 Avalon so I know I'm not batty.

Does this device stay in the OBDII port permanently? How about those of us who have Progressive insurance or another company that requires you to have their dongle in the OBDII port? A splitter?

I am wondering the same. I found this at amazon and am considering trying it. I don't like that my doors don't automatically lock and I have a Bluetooth OBDII Dongle so If I get the door adapter then I can't use the dongle.

Haven't you seen my thread? http://www.rav4world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143601 OBD2 Splitter

No I missed that thread. I am going to try the amazon one which seems to do the same but is less money.

I was searching and saw an automatic window closer that will open your windows from the car remote.

It would be great if I could find one module with both features. Lock the car doors when driving and remotely open the windows from my office when it's hot to let out hot air.

You can also find that on aliexpress, I believe it is listed as a rav4 obd alarm system but I'm not sure. Most of those Chinese listings are hard to understand.

I've been driving around with the thing for a few weeks now, and so far it's GOOD. It's indeed 100% plug & play and works like a charm. Over 20 km/h and -plop- everything locks. Put the gear lever back in [P] and it's all open again. Best few bucks spent in a long time!
