attached is a picture in my ALBUM of what i want to replace.

any help sugestion or pictures t help will be great.

FYI. You want that splash guard. The last thing you need is to get foreign objects unwillingly logged in your engine bay. It's held in by a few bolts and the thing is a hard plastic that weighs no more than five lbs. You could mount it yourself. Follow thebolt pattern and you'll see where it goes.

Hi , I bought a 2009 rav4 4cl base recently and found out it doesnt have the engine splash shield for some reason ( may be got broken is some kind of a accident). I wanted to buy it and install in mysef as dealership is changering me 500 with parts and labour.
$45 delivered personally lol
$30 pickup
we can work something out.

Or you can pay me a bucks to personally help and teach you properly on how to install it.

I really wonder how necessary this "shield" really is? There are millions of cars out there still running fine that don't have one. Both of our RAV's have that plastic crap held up with zip ties because the plastic clips are a joke. I'm tempted to just throw it away but haven't done so.

You really don't need the cover, BUT it does reduce drag and increase your mileage. That is the only reason it was put there. For example I have an 2009 Mustang which has no such shield underneath. The 2010 Mustang added that shield and claims to have an increase in mileage of 1 or 2 MPG. So it's your choice.

The funny thing is that the engine heat warps that thing so it's no longer flat beneath the car. It has bows in it that catch the wind rather than help smooth it out. It likely serves as a splash shield also so I'll leave it alone.

I had to remove mine to access the tranny pan to replace the fluid. There are about 3 or 4 different designed plastic rivet connectors and a few metal screws that hold that puppy in place. You have to remove about 10 in total. Most of them self-destructed upon removal :wall Since they were odd shaped rivets, I had to go to a dealership to buy replacements. I couldn't find anything similar at the local auto parts stores. They cost over $2 a piece. So before you tackle this job buy some spares.

As mentioned above, this cheap and flimsy plastic shield serves a purpose or otherwise I would have tossed it for all its trouble.

Do not remove it. If you have to becuz it's broken, try replacing it. Engineers had it added for a reason; a reason good enough for the accountants to allow it. Splash/guard shield, drag and, as was finally mentioned a couple posts above, helps direct airflow through the radiator.

I'll say it again, because it cannot be said enough (and this goes for many situations):

Sorry to resurrect an old post. But my 2008 4 CYL RAV 4 Limited has a sagging splash guard. All the bolts or rivets are missing. I suspect when we had it detailed before leaving Germany, the company removed it and didn't replace the attachments. Does anyone have the specifications for the bolts or rivets that hold it up?
