Please forgive the long detailed title, it's so that someday (if search engines index this page properly) when someone has the same problem that I do, they will be able to find this thread.

I just got out of my 2010 RAV4 into a 2013. There is lots to like but lots not-to-like which I'll get into soon if answers don't pop up (illegible NAV screen anyone?) Anyway, I have one problem that couldn't wait for a discussion to pop up so I'm starting it myself:

Here in Brooklyn we need front plates. The pilot holes on the bumper are 10" apart whereas plate holes are 7"ish so obviously a bracket goles there. I dug out one pilot hole with an eyeglass screwdriver to see how deep the plastic goes and if the bumper itself to hold the bracket. Doesn't seem like it's thick enough. There is absorbent foam behind it, I know that sometimes BEHIND that they put something for a screw to catch so that you can screw in securely.

ANYWAY....now that I've detailed why I think a license plate bracket won't hold, I still need to get one. I can't find it as a 2013 RAV4 OEM part anywhere online. I'm sure an OEM part for another car or even a 3rd party bracket will work but I want to be sure before I try.

Any ideas anyone? I need a workable front license plate bracket - holder - mount GUARANTEED TO WORK ON A 2013 RAV4 so that I can get my license plate hooked up and not get tickets.

Oh, in case you're wondering why I didn't get a bracket on delivery (I would wonder) I drove to PA to get the car and apparently out there they don't need front license plates so the dealerships don't get brackets.

Thanks in advance guys...

UPDATE...Never mind (but I'll leave the post here just in case). I called a service writer who used to work for me and now works at Toyota (I run a Hyundai store) and he informed me that it's just a half-bracket (top only). It's not a full-size that is molded to the bumper. He told me that any half-bracket will do so I found one from a Sonata, slapped it on and BAZINGA! perfect fit. So I guess the answer to future generations reading this is don't worry about the "fit" of the bracket. See if you can find an OEM Toyota "half-bracket" online somewhere (only has two 10"-spaced holes on top to screw into the bumper with two 7"-spaced slots for the license screws to attach into it).
