2019 RAV4 LIMITED – ENTUNE 3.0 – USB DOWNLOADING ISSUE

On Friday, 28 February 2020, I reported a problem to my Toyota Dealer, that my Entune 3.0 System stopped recognizing my USB 2.0 32 GB Thumb Drive and Apple Ipod Devices I use to listen to my songs. It worked fine until last week and I believe an automatic update may have caused the problem since it was all working fine since July 2019. They scheduled an appointment for this Friday. I did mentioned this somewhere on this website and got someone excited since like me they rely on this same application most of the time when driving.
Well, it’s all working again. Apparently the Entune 3.0 Update did cause the USB Songs to be erased from the Entune 3.0 memory, but it did not damage my Thumb Drive that was in the USB Data Port at the time. Apparently, you cannot interrupt the USB when it is trying to load the USB Device from your device (thumb drive or Apple Ipod) during the full thumb drive download to the Entune System memory before it is accessible to use browsing and playing, or it will turn off the entertainment Functions (Radio and USB) and nothing will be loaded and have to start all over again. This interruption will require you to manually power the Entune System back on where you can only listen to the radio until the entire USB Drive is downloaded in its entirety to the Entune 3.0 memory. Anyway, I left it alone while driving for 20 minutes or so, and I am operational now, and know what to do next time this happens. It can take a long time when you have a lot of songs like I do, about 2000, where they all have to be loaded before you can start browsing and playing. I should have thought about this since it is a media device and like any PC operation, you cannot activate a disk when downloading is going on and it takes much longer transferring data to the Entune 3.0 System than it does from a CD to a PC. Not sure if a similar thing can happen with the Android Phones loading as well, but I did have a longer wait for that to happen as well during the same week.

Since you created a new thread covering this issue (the original thread "2019 Rav4 USB issue already") I'll redirect you to my question of yesterday to you regarding your comments of Cunsumer Reports.

See below to refresh your memory. Just scroll down a little to see. I have yet to hear your explanation of how CR is saying this about the Rav4. Like I mentioned yesterday, I cannot find any remarks by CR even close to what you are stating in your thread. Here, I'll even put your comments regarding CR here so you can't miss them: I would like your explanation as to where this info came from. If you are stating inaccurate info and naming a source, that sir is what is pitiful.

I read the CR April issue that just came and found no mention of your comments in that magazine. In fact, there is no mention of the 2020 Rav4, even in the reliability charts near the end pages of the magazine. I also checked their website and again, there is no mention of anything about what you said they are saying, which is:

So, based on what you said in your prior post a few days ago, which is listed just above, you did not answer my questions. I directly asked, where did you see this information. You are now saying this is in the magazine that just came, which would be the annual April Auto Issue, and I told you I did check that and I can't find it, because I believe it is not in that printed magazine If you say it is, please tell me the page number(s) so that I and anyone else can look and see if you are correct. You may think I'm being a hard a** about this but if someone says they read something in a publication and that info is no where to be found, then something is wrong. Just tell me the page number and even better, post where you saw it online at the CR website.
