this is such a s*#t show. The crew at rackattack.com is super helpful. They explained that in time Yakima and Thule will build racks for the bare roof. Given I purchased mine with the agreement that they were installing racks at the dealership and took pics of all the paperwork saying that was going to happen I have been able to negotiate some money back and will be following of up Toyota given the brochure lists it with racks.

If anyone lives in Portland OR, Yakima would be interested in using someone's vehicle as a test guide for fitting. Contact their customer support email and let them know! Here is what they responded to me with when I reached out, but I live in CA.

We currently do not have a solution for that vehicle. Our team is aware of this blind spot and if you live in the Portland Oregon area, we may be able to use your help to fit this vehicle. Otherwise, you should keep watching at www.yakimatech.com for a possible fit. I cannot guarantee we will have a fit or when we might have one, but that is the place to watch.

Apr 1, 2022, 12:16 PDT Hello- I am one of many people that purchased a 2022 RAV4 LE and had been told that a roof rack was an option….only to get the vehicle and be told that is not that case. My hope is that there will be a bare roof roof rack attachment made by your company that would work-do you know if that is in the plans? Thank you!

I am very interested in your results, have you received the kit yet or do you know how long it is going to take to ship? Let me know how it works! You are talking about the fit kit 145237, right? Where did you order from and how much did it cost? I found a place that will sell it for $101 with $73 shipping just for the fit kit (it would be another $500 for the other parts locally).

I am really hoping this works out- I check this forum daily

In talking with the major companies they seem to be indicating that because the pics of the car and the brochure lists it with rails that there isn’t anything in development ….

I bought a RAV4 LE 2022 just a couple of months ago in part because I thought it would be a better vehicle for hauling kayaks and bikes. I just today started what should have been a simple process of installing a roof rack and am just flabbergasted to find no roof points. I can’t possibly understand Toyota’s thinking on this one. I also get the sense that the Toyota dealer I bought it from wasn’t aware of the change (or was dishonest) as the salesman said putting a roof rack on after purchase would be a piece of cake. I’m pretty pissed about this.

I feel you- I was promised I could bring it back in the following week to get the rack installed. I was irate and do feel that it was a dishonest practice. I did get 1k back from them in a check. If you look through the thread I posted what I purchased and I have been totally satisfied with it - I have driven all over with my sup.

I ordered through e trailer, these were the racks that I got, they have worked perfectly and i love the sup carrier

It doesn’t make any noise when driving regardless of whether or not my SUP is on or off. It’s really fabulous!
