I see a lot of you have done the back as well. Did your vehicle not come with rear tint from the factory ?
Did you apply a second tint on top of the factory tint, and if so why ???
Mine came with tint on the back, I wanted darker in the back and then the 20% up front.

The rear windows are smoked, not tinted. The distinction is the factory smoke does not offer IR rejection (heat reduction), not sure about UV.

I had 70% tint installed on windshield, rear windows and sunroof. Then 35% on the driver and passenger window. All of this was to reduce the heat inside the vehicle.

I think their privacy glass comes standard on all trims but to me its not dark enough and it doesnt provide any heat reduction like you would get from ceramic tint.

Had my front windows tinted today and asked the shop to measure the % on the rear factory glass. Its 27%
Paid $170 CND for both front windows and sun shade above windshield
product installed was XPEL tint

Curious what others have paid.

Got quoted $175 US for Xpel XR on the two fronts today or $499 for the sides and rear hatch. Debating whether adding a 70% to the factory privacy is worth it for the heat reduction. Summers can get pretty scalding here in PA. Another shop quoted the same but they use Suntek, which I gather is a bit inferior. I have only had Llumar in the past

20% all around. Good balance of privacy and visibility at night.
Looks awesome with the Magnetic Gray!
I wish I could have done 20%, but MA law is 35%.... we have to have our cars inspected every year and they WILL reject the car at inspection for window tint that is too dark and make you remove it before passing it.

That's awful. Luckily, where I live tint is not a big deal. Many people run limo tint which I'll probably do next time.

I even did the windshield in 50% ceramic, you barely notice it, but it makes a big difference in reducing heat and glare as well. No change in visibility at night either.

It's worse in NH......all tint is illegal.
My son moved from MA to NH.....they let the tint on his Tundra slide this year but said he will need to remove it for next year's inspection, which sucks...I paid for the tint job for him for Christmas....lol

Michigan has the funniest tint law. Only the top 4 inches of the side windows can be tinted, and only at 35% max. So you get monstrosities like this.

Going to have the front windows tinted next week, but now unsure of % tint. They say the 15% ceramic 3M tint matches the rest of the RAV4 windows. After looking at other posted tints, now I’m not so sure. My state is 35%, but has never been enforced. Now I’m wondering if I should go 35% ceramic 3M tint…..decisions, decisions….
Any input from those who regret going one way or another?
TIA

If you want to match the rear, you'll probably have to go 15 or 20%. The windshield lets in so much light that 35% will make your front lighter than your rears.

Also, ceramic on just the fronts won't give you the heat reduction throughout if that's what you're seeking. I'm considering doing 50 - 70% on the rest to have it match AND keep the whole vehicle cool. We have ceramic on just the fronts of the Highlander. It keeps you comfy when driving in the sun but does nothing for keeping a parked car cool

I’m just looking to match. Because the vehicle is white, it doesn’t get as hot. Plus I don’t live in a hot climate. I also like to keep peeping eyes from looking in to see what they could steal. It mostly gets parked in the shade most of the day via whatever, carport, trees, etc. I might consider doing 70%, 50%, or 35% ceramic to rear window only. IDK.

I hear you, I'm just doing the fronts for now as well. But I do wonder what impact going all the way around would have in terms of lessening the strain on the hybrid system AC, etc.

This is 30% Stratos on the front, back and moonroof. The guy at the tint shop said he thought 30% on the rear would meter to around 15% or slightly under that, but he didn't actually check it. Florida allows all the way down to 5% on the rear, but that's way too dark for my liking.
