As an Uber and Lyft driver I want to give my passengers the ability to charge their phones. I tried a Multi Port USB adapter from the 12V Cig Port in the front and then I ran USB cables to the back of the front seats but my passengers just trip over them.

I tried using cable management latches on the back of the seats to hold the wires up but the glue just fails.

So now I want to add ports in the back and then use short cables. I can't find a guide on how to do this.

I recently swapped out the front CLA port to this, post here. It does NOT have a separate fuse, but since I tapped off the vehicle's CLA wires, it has a fuse already. There are variations of the this type of USB chargers depending on color or QuickCharge capabilities. You could add this type to the back of the center armrest console, but will need to cut a hole, and extend the wires. Fortunately, the CLA wire is switched 12V, so the charger will be shut off when the vehicle is off.

That looks like a good idea but I am not that comfortable with wires. I just realized if I could mount my 4 port USB outlet to the back I could use the 12V power socket inside the center console to power it but I am not sure how to attach it.

I just found this on Walmart.com I wonder if I could use a Y connector to power two of these off the 12V outlet in the center console.

Looks like Aliexpress has it too.

Somebody on this forum mounted 12 volt outlets on the back panel of the center console. The panel snaps out easily and then you can tap into the wiring of the outlet inside the console box.

That looks perfect, I just added it to my Amazon list. I'll install it on the rear panel of the console and run the wires to the outlet inside the console.

I got that from amazon. It works great for my 2 kids with their phones in the back seat. I did used the power from the 12V in the console. I did find out after I pulled the console out that the back panel of the console just pops out. But this was the best $10 I have spent on my RAV
