I have. 20 xse hybrid.. I did not get the tech package, I just got a new phone that uses wireless charging, I saw on amazon aftermarket trays to install to get the wireless charging for 100-200$. I have seen used factory ones for around 225$ a new one from Toyota is 500-700$! Has anyone else added wireless charging to a car that didn’t option it from factory? My only concern is do I need to change any wires or other pieces to handle it? The installation video for aftermarket didn’t and was pretty quick and easy. I rather use a factory one but not sure if I can just swap it or what? Also I have seen 3 different color factory ones, brown, black, and orange.. I believe the orange comes on Adventure? Where is the brown from? The correct one for my car would be black correct?

Here's what I'm using in both my '18 Accord and '01 F-250.
It's inexpensive and practical. It holds the phone where I can use it for route mapping and to see texts w/o having to find it on a shelf somewhere and doesn't waste the storage space of that shelf.

I would recommend not to use the toyota part, my Limited version has it, ane I prefer to uee a 25$ aftermarket one that hold my phone in view and charge it with fast QI wireless.

The main issue with the Toyota is that it does not support wireless FAST QI standard, thus useless. Also location means, you do not see your phone while it charges.

I have a 2020 XLE (wife's car) and work for Toyota. Southeast Toyota somewhat recently released a fast charge kit that replaces the stock tray by the power/usb sockets. Part number is 00016-42506. I just installed it yesterday and it works and looks great. It can only be ordered from dealers in FL, AL, GA and the Carolinas though and from what I've seen cannot be shipped to CA.

While I may agree with this it will not work for everyone.
I use a water proof case in my phone. Even some regular cables don't work with it. The plug is too big to fit in the opening and I still have to open the rubber plug to gain access. With wireless it works seamlessly. Yes if I want to use Android Auto I have to plug-in, but those times are sparce in between.

heres the thing w wireless charging...most of bigger phones now have fast or super fast charging mode which is anywhere from 18w-30w+. so these wireless charger which are around 15w may not put the phone in fast charging mode. dont get me wrong it will still charge but takes along time. fast mode may not matter to some since it tops off at 80% then goes to normal.

I went w these flush charger adapter. charging both devices at same time cuts off fast charging but there are others that doesnt but its not as flush

fast charging BOTH ports simultaneously

I added a charging pad in the console (posted somewhere in this thread) because the Qi charging in front of the shifter was just terrible. But after trying 48w and 30w versions of power adapter, still it was barely charging. Because I’m pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem and will likely only own iPhones for the life of this car, I just did this:

I still have the Qi pad in the console for passengers. But but you’re an iPhone user MagSafe is so much better and faster than any Qi charging pad. And it’s magnetic so it’s easy to place correctly and never budges. Of course it doesn’t make sense for Android users…but just wanted to put the option out there for iPhone folks!
