I have a 2022 xle premium, push to start, it did not come with a remote start function. Looking to install one. Looking for a plug and play one I can install myself. Anyone have any experience installing one?
Or does anyone know if Toyota actually installs one?
Toyota offers one, chances are it's N2Design's remote starter.
I've purchased and installed 4 so far...soon to be 5 when my Rav4 Hybrid arrives and I pick it up from the dealer... The longest it took was 1 hour on My Tacoma. I ordered the cellular adapter and toyed with putting it in 3 locations until I chose one and buttoned it all back up. Other vehicles, wife's 2019 Honda HRV, a 2018 F150, and a newer Camry.
It uses the factory fob's lock button to start and you can add on an independent cellular module to utilize N2's app to start and track the vehicle. As an added bonus, when you sell one vehicle, the cellular module can be reused on a new vehicle (Pulling it from my Tacoma for the Rav4). I have no association with N2Designs, other than having had great support (owner reached out to answer my questions) and its a damn good product.
