Air cooled battery?

As far as I know the Prime's battery is air cooled like the hybrid. Am I correct?

I thought an full EV would need liquid cooling to put out that kind of power. Things are even worse for a PHEV, it has to carry the weight of an engine in EV mode.

It's actually both liquid cooled by the AC refrigerant and air cooled by the fans. The AC compressor is oversized to push the refrigerant thru the battery pack. There is also a battery heater for cold temperature performance that contains a "sponge" that pushes the heating element onto the battery pack when needed. I posted this exploded view of the R4P prismatic battery pack in another thread.
