I had a 2022 with TSS 2.0 and... it sucked

unexpected braking, lane centering and driving/steering aids sucked,
curve control sucked...it was just so unrefined it made the system unusable

So, I lost the Rav4 and got a new Toyota and has TSS3.0 and ...I love everything
about it. It works like I wished TSS 2.0 would have worked. I keep all the driving
aids on all the time and it's very accurate, intuitive, and not annoying in the least
and to be honest I don't know it's engaged because it doesn't fight me whatsoever.

cruise control lane centering works great, no bopping from side to side and it has gentle steering inputs. It reads worn paint lines far better and tracks pavement cracks and seams better. it doesn't try to fly me off exits I don't want to take. and driving assist when not in cruise works great too...very gentle nudges and nothing unexpected.

Road Sign Assist is more accurate...I mean every last component of the system is pretty freakin great. But TSS 2.0, I wanted to rage quit it within 5 minutes of engaging any system or mode. Horrible.

So, any Rav4 with TSS3.0 and does it behave now on Rav4 if you've been able to compare to TSS 2.0 ?

So crisps …
I think you are trying to ask if any earlier than 2025 models have the updated 3.0 software right?

Yea fighting wind currents is a white knuckle experience at best
You throw in there auto drive features
And a bit of driver control freak
And it takes all the enjoyment right out of a day out of the house…

I'm just blown away how good 3.0 is on my new buggy

I'm wondering if TSS3.0 solves everything bad about Rav4's with TSS2.x

I'll need to test drive a 2025 Rav4 I reckon

One feature that is supposed to be on my 2022 Rav4 XLE is the road sign recognition. I haven't seen it displayed. Did I miss a setting in the setup somewhere? I see where some did not like the TSS features, but so far, I am liking it. The only feature that I am not too fond of yet is the lane assist. It seems to be a bit late on correction, something that I would see before it does. Generally, it wanders more than I would - when I am rested and alert ;).

Can the TSS 2.0 be upgraded to 3.0?

Road Sign Assist (RSA) is on by default, but it can be turned off. Perhaps someone turned it off.

You can change the setting using the MID (multi information display) (steering wheel arrow keys).

The kind of signs that can be displayed in limited, thus it has little use. Only the speed limit signs seem to be of value to me. Besides, the area to display signs is small, thus if there are mulitiple signs, they get overlayed (overlaid?) and you can't really read them.

There are several other parts of RSA that can be turned on on off, and levels set. One is "Excess speed notification". If you exceed the speed that the car sees on a sign, it will display a warning message or sound a buzzer. I turned mine off because it was too annoying.

My 2022 has been very good. Now, I only use the features when I'm driving on a freeway, to assist. I NEVER rely on the car safety features alone. I'm old school, I drive my car. Yes, some safety items can't be turned off, but that's okay.
To me, my Toyota RAV4 2022 hybrid is fantastic and very dependable.

Wow!!! Pretty harsh. It sounds like you would rate TSS 2.0 around 1-2/10. I would rate it 9+/10. I have a '24 rav4 hybrid. I like TSS 2 very much and it works very well. The PCS has already saved me twice from rear ending another car. I have LTA and LDA on by default and they work great, just as I would expect them to. The only reason I don't rate TSS 2 10/10 is because the lane boundaries' detection could be better when they are not clearly identifiable. The DRCC works extremely well, although I use it only on highways.

The highest the 5th gen got was 2.5+(Prime) and 2.5 (The rest)

I have 2.5 on my 23 Limited and believe it or not it sucks more ass than 2.0 did on my old 2020. It's extremely sensitive to false positives.

The 6th gen will have TSS 4.0.
