AT&T cellular subscription

My new R4P came with a one month AT&T cellular subscription. Other than a Wi-Fi hotspot in the car, which I think is pretty useless if you have a cell phone, I didn't know what it does. I called Toyota and they didn't seem to know either. They did say that a number of the features of the car did use cellular service, but that was through a separate cell contract from AT&T.

I then called AT&T and they only knew about car Wi-Fi.

Does anyone here know what goes away if you don't renew the AT&T subscription?

I've been using it for a couple years, basically it's unlimited cell service, only a real value if you don't already have that service on your phone, $20 is far cheaper than unlimited from my cell carrier, the only time I need more bandwidth is when on the road, don't use it otherwise, the 1Gb I get for 2 lines from Xfinity costs $17 a month.

The AT&T subscription is only for in-car wifi (internet access). The cellular modem in the car is also used for other Toyota offered services like Remote Connect for the app, Navigation (if equipped) and Safety Connect for stolen vehicle tracking, collision response, and other emergency response. These are all Toyota subscriptions that do not require the AT&T wifi service to work. After their trial period, there is a Toyota subscription required.
