Axle end spindle dust cap

Got around to installing the winter tires.
Noticed when I removed the alloy wheels that the half-shaft axle ends are visible because we don't have spindle dust caps covering the axle thread and nut. The particlar 5 spoke design steel wheel for my winter tires doesn't allow for a full wheel cover to protect this area from winter road conditions.
Does anyone know if Toyota or the aftermarket has a dust cap that fits or even a centre cap for the steel wheel?
Not finding any results on my searches.

Someone else was looking for a cover on this forum. I informed him that my 1980 SR5 pickup had pop on center caps with the old Toyota logo. I forget if the rims were steel of alloy. You might check back in time a bit in your research. You might get lucky.

T'was me, no luck. My parts guy who has a 4runner knew what I was talking about, nothing for sale @ Toyota. Also what they do have for newer models is either too big or the same offering, so back to square 1. Checking ebay for the SR5 caps I found them, but with a pretty hefty markup I can't justify.

These alloys really offer no solution to cover the exposed axle with conventional parts for sale @ Toyota, sad. There's 2 options if preventing rust is the goal:
1) slather white lithium grease, and reapply 3x throughout the season
2) measure the diameter, find something on amazon, and smack it on with a rubber mallet

When I switched over from summer to winter tires on steel wheels no dust cover, Toyota anything to save a dollar......I smothered the end spindle showing with grease, within a day or two picks up road crap and all blends in with the black steel wheels. After going through the car wash a couple of times re grease if needed.

Thanks all.
Another consideration is the amount of axle that protrudes.
I'll have to measure the diameter and depth, then check with other OEMs or some trailer axle spindles.

Took another look at this.
Lots of cars running around here with snows on steel wheels and not one I've seen has dust or centre caps.
Verified with the dealer that there is no centre cap (Toyota or otherwise) for the 5 spoke steel wheel.
I'm unable to get an accurate measurement of the spindle ID because the wheel is in the way.
Searched and found Dorman (aftermarket supplier) may have one or two sizes of cap that could possibly work as an axle dust cap or a wheel centre cap pending me getting a good measurement.
Will update as I get more info, probably in the spring when the wheels come off.

Finally saw what I was looking for in a parking lot today. Not only was it on a Toyota but on a RAV4!
It is the center cap on what looks like a stock 5 spoke silver steel wheel on the 3rd gen. Now to find out how it attaches and whether it fits my particular wheels. If they work I would need to get them painted or blacked out.
Will ask in the 3rd Gen forum or get more info after the holidays.
Merry Christmas!

That's exactly the cap I saw.
I started a thread in the 4.3 forum to find out how they attach. They may work on my non-OEM 5 spoke.
How are they supposed to grab? Would you mind taking a pic of the back side of the cap?
I still need to take a pic of my wheel.

Thanks, that helps alot.
Next favour. Roughly what diameter is the lip that it didn't fit on your wheels?
Thanks again.

I just confirmed that I have a Gen4 steel wheel. Found this out through info in my other related thread. There is a full wheel cover that fits but I need to find a Gen4 LE running this wheel/cover combo to see what it looks like.
Upside is the full cover will hide any future rusty wheel. Downside is I was hoping to just cover the centre thread and nut.
The search continues.
