Wow.. I wish I saw this forum before I ordered. I ordered a RAV4 Hybrid Limited on Feb 19th at Maple Toyota (Ontario). The dealer quoted me 6-8 months wait time, so I gave them several color options I will be willing to take to get the car faster. But I didn't know there are already people who ordered last summer still waiting... I am expecting a child in September and need to upsize our vehicle to fit in strollers and stuff. Hopefully I get a car in 6 months, but I am not even sure I will get mine this year after reading your posts 😅. Good luck everyone!. If I have to wait like 10 months, i might have to just get a gas version.

Did you order from Marcello? Love his Utube videos. Yes, I ordered a Limited Hybrid in mid August. Still waiting Hope to hear something soon about car going into production 🤞
My thoughts esp with gas prices skyrocketing if you can hold out and make due I’d wait for hybrid.
Yeah I am hoping to get a hybrid one since I expect the gas prices won't go down in the future. I am willing it wait for the rest of this year, but not sure if I can wait any longer.

As an outlier point of reference, I placed my order/deposit on January 4th for Hybrid SE (magnetic grey). Just got an update this week that my vehicle due to arrive last week of March/first week of April.
Wow that's amazing! Happy for you! Hopefully this is a signal that Toyota is ramping up their production.. I wonder also SE trim is something new this year, so not many people ordered?

Knowing some of you guys ordered back in summer 2021 and still have no news discourage me a lot  haha. I need to upsize my family car as I am expecting a baby in fall this year. I ordered a limited in February at Maple Toyota. At this point, I just thought it would be a good idea to put a refundable deposit to reserve a different model from a different maker in case I don't get my RAV4 even in early 2023. Heard about the production cuts due to earthquakes. I know RAV4 hybrids are mostly built in Canada and USA for our market, but you never know if Japanese factories still provide some parts to North American ones..

so I alo reserved a Hyundai ioniq 5 as a second choice. Not 100% sure about electric cars, but I liked it when I test drove it and seems to be priced competitively if I factor in cost savings from ditching gas. At this point, I will take either one of RAV4 and ioniq 5 lol. Hyundai also quoted me 8-12 months 😅

I noticed my dealer is getting a lot of cars last few days including RAV4 hybrids. I have been checking the inventory page periodically and have never seen 2022 rav4 hybrids until this week. At least people who ordered last year will start receiving their orders now. Hopefully I am getting one this year. Hopefully I didnt make a mistake ordering a limited.. Seems to be mostly XLEs.

This scenario I'd have to agree!!
Just picked up (at Guelph Toyota - this is in Ontario) my 2022 Limited Hybrid yesterday!
Dealership is just 41 minutes away from Woodstock plant where RAV4 Hybrids are made.

T'was ordered 13 August 2021 and had initial ETA of 09 - 19 March then March 26 when t didn't show up that time!
Even test drove it 24 March hours later after coming off vehicle carrier - not PDI'd yet and some functionalities not fully set up - my agent is awesome!!!
Totally recommending Rand - my agent and the dealership.

I think I counted at least 10 RAV4 Hybrids(LE/ XLE/ XSE and Limited) including some gas models too.
Gathered those were sold and order fulfillment for summer 2021 or 3Q orders.
Unfortunately, not including my brother's XLE Hybrid ordered same date
Which is understandable coz XLE Hybrid has the "lion's share" of all RAV orders as posted previously by one of our co-member here in this forum
Was told it'd be arriving 1st week of April and I believe its credible enough for me to pass on to my bro!

Best of luck to those who ordered around same timing - its coming your way!!! 😀;)
Yeah it’s definitely coming. I think my dealer probably received 15-16 RAV hybrids based on what I saw on inventory page. Mostly XLEs and one or two for other trims.

I agree it's moving I was 19th at the end of February and last Wednesday went to see my dealer and now I'm 8th finally seeing the light
So he received and will receive in April 11 rav4 in the last 5 weeks
He should be calling around end of April or May with my delivery date window
Good for you! I hope this vehicle will be problem free and totally worth the wait.

I'm having a hard time understanding these ridiculous wait times at this point. I've been waiting for my rav4 hybrid LE since beginning of July 2021 (that's 9 months now) in Ontario. The latest delivery date I was given was this week, but I haven't heard anything and knowing my dealer, it means they haven't received it.

Could someone explain to me how Tesla can manage to break their delivery record this year (Tesla delivers record number of cars despite challenges) but we're told to wait up to a year for a car? At what point do we stop blaming covid lock downs and supply chain issues, etc., and blame Toyota's incompetence on this?
In my opinions, there are two reasons for this.

it is difficult to compare Toyota and Tesla. Toyota is number one volume automotive sales company. It is a lot easier to increase production and receive enough parts in shortage when your sales number is much lower than Toyota. I don’t think Tesla will be able to manage production if they have to produce Toyota volumes. I think Tesla also has advantage of dealing directly with Consumers. I think dealing with dealership is another road block for us as supply doesnt get distributed fairly when they are just allocated to dealership.. I feel like we are essentially stuck in a big black box where no one tells us anything.

Another factor seems to be longer wait times for Canadian buyers compared to American buyers. Maybe Toyota is prioritizing American market for obvious reasons but it seems to a lot easier to buy rav4 there. Downside is American dealers charge mark-ups…

I pre-ordered a RAV4 hybrids and a Hyundai Ioniq5. At least Hyundai seems to provide a direct consumer update on the status like waiting list numbers on ioniq5.

Toyota should do the same. They don’t want to get their loyal customers disenfranchised. Toyota’s bulletproof reliability reputation won’t matter once electric cars become mainstream…

When I spoke with him a couple months ago (when he told me I would finally get a 2022), he told me that since my original order was for a 2021, pricing will change if there's a MSRP increase. So, he will obviously not honor original price. I can live with that though as the difference isn't that bad and also because I just want my dammed RAV...
Yeah i was told the same thing when I ordered. Price is subject to terms of financing and MSRP at the time of delivery. It is even on the bill of sale. If you dealer said they will honor the original pricing, make sure it’s in the writing. But I doubt dealers would do that. What if prices goes up by 1k in 23MY? They would also want to protect themselves.

If this article is true, 2023MY will have some substantial updates on tech.. Maybe it is worth getting 2023 for me if my new car will be devalued after few months. Tech is the only area RAV4 seems to be outdated compared to competition. I would love to get new Toyota infotainment system in my RAV4.

Yes! Just picked up my RAV4 Hybrid Limited yesterday from Downtown Toyota. Ordered 2021 Sept-end but received no real updates until early March when I found out it was "in production" and given ETA of April 17. Got the call from dealer on April 13 that it had landed. Had to wait a little longer to take delivery though due to Easter weekend 😃. So about 6.5 months in total for me.
Congrats! Wish my wait time will be as short as yours as I also order a limited in Feb... Just curious which color did you get?

What does allocation means here , sorry if I seems crazy to ask . I was of the opinion that if we have ordered a unit and a VIN has been generated against that , the dealer is duty bound to offer the unit to the original person first .
Can a dealer swap the number and allocate ang vehicle to any buyer too ?
What my sales rep told me is there is no such thing as ordering an exact model you want for Toyota in Canada. Dealers get allocation based on order information dealer submit, so he told me i have a better chance of getting cars faster if i am flexible on colors, since dealer may not get enough allocations for that color.

I ordered a hybrid limited on April 4th this year. The dealer told me that it would be approx 10 months for delivery. I went with my sister today and she also ordered a hybrid limited, the sales rep checked a Toyota dealer delivery status website and it showed that a limited ordered today would be about 12 months. This is going to be a long wait!
He mentioned Venza hybrids are about a 4-5 month wait.
This is interesting. I asked about other hybrid vehicles availability to my sales rep and he keeps insisting that its the same for all models including Venza.. And he sent me a quote of demo 2021 Venza with 10000km mileage and quoted price based on new Venza MSRP +$ 3K (dealer accessories) +$2k freight/pdi (this is scam as it’s an used vehicle). I asked him how could he charge new msrp price for this and he replied “it’s already sold to a different customer bro” 😂😂😂 i think this guy tried to push me to pay ridiculous price. I am considering either switching dealership or get a different car after this experience.. guys whatever you do dont let dealers scam you lol
