any differences between the cloth seats and leather as far as comfort, fit? Thanks.

Test drove the cloth. Couldn't find a leather-equipped model to test drive but ordered one based on Consumer Reports' observation that the leather seats were firmer. I like firm seats, bed, etc., so I have been happy with my choice. This is a subjective choice based on what YOU like. I also live in a cold climate & wanted the heated seat option which is only available with leather at this time.

And I live in an area that can gets cold, and I didn't want to freeze my butt on winter mornings. I never would even consider leather hot in summer, cold in winter. Also can stain, scratch, harder to care for. Just not my thing, not even if I bought a very expensive car. But to each his own.

I found a subtle difference between the cloth seats in the base Rav4 compared to the Limited / Sport. The cloth seats are considered firm but not if compared with "European" seating - more so if compared to soft domestic brands.

If there was a minor "want" it'd be for more under-thigh support. We're 'tall" [= long legs] and the seat bottom cushions are a bit short. Leg room is fine for us and the power adjustable driver seat in the Limited makes for a good driving position.

The upholstery material seems to be very good quality and feels durable. Time will tell how it will wear.

I had leather installed over the sport seats. Easier to clean. Cloth is a sponge(I guess I'm a slob). I'm in CA, and not concerned with cold/hot seats.

The seats feel better with leather IMHO.

Never compared the oem cloth and oem leather back to back. Go try both and decide for yourself.

edit - I never saw any with leather at any of the dealerships I visited. I think it's pretty rare to find oem leather in CA. I was afraid that the seats would feel firmer with aftermarket leather installed, but they actually feel softer compared to the cloth sport seats.

I have a friend that has a 2006 Rav with leather and she only has about 12,000 miles on it and the leather is starting to show signs of wear and tear. She only weighs about 100 lbs. so I doubt it is from that. I have cloth and if I were to put leather in I would go with katskinz. I had one other vehile with the Kat's and it had 75000 miles on it and did not show and wear and tear.
