So I'm having a weird issue. This happened about a year ago but I've had no issues until today.

Symptom: Started the car, it ran rough for about 5-10 seconds, shut off, and now it won't start. It cranks and I'm getting fuel from the exhaust, but no spark?

The last time it happened, it was exactly the same. Started, ran rough briefly, and then shut off. I don't know what I did but it eventually started, and I've had no issues for about a year. I thought it might have been a key fob issue back then but I'm positive my key FOB is good now.

Sorry not good with push to start. But, reading your symptoms, it is hard to say what it is. There is not enough investigation to make any diagnosis.

Engine could have been flooded from a stuck injector. Starting made it run rough then quit.
Smell of gasoline in exhaust. Or, could be failing coils due to wide spark plug gaps. Or, a bad connection with the crankshaft position sensor. Or, cam crank correlation is off. Or, wiring/rodents? Too many possibilities.
Need more data.

Note: With key start, use to be able to depress the gas pedal all the way to the floor and put car into clear flood mode. Do not know if this is possible with push to start??
Not push button, key start.

I honestly have no other data. Gremlins is about my best guess right now. I do have issues with my key fob sometimes not working due to bad battery connection but the red bliking key fob light goes away whenever I put the key into the ignition...

When you turn on the ignition does the CEL light illuminate?
Yes. All the lights are illuminated while cranking.

I’m new to the world of Toyota, and honestly haven’t done much research on even what my ICE has. But, with the cars I have owned in the past, this would be an issue preventing any spark plug from working. Coil packs or whatever feeds power to them has gone bad. I would start with a tuneup if it were me. My 2007 wrangler will spit gas out the pipes if even one plug is fouled.
Its just so odd that it happened once, was good for a year, and happened again. I plan to check the spark plugs. Maybe its flooding when cold due to old plugs? I'm using iridium plugs and I changed them at 100k miles and have about 60k on them so they SHOULD be good...

So Ive tried turning the door lock to the unlock position for 30 seconds. Then to the locked position for 30 seconds. Then I've tried holding down the panic button for 5 seconds followed by the lock button twice and the unlock button twice. How else do you reset the immobilizer?

So....

It started right up at the shop. No issues.

They ran a bunch of tests, found nothing. Yesterday paid $150 for the diagnostics, picked it up, drove it home, backed it into my driveway (about a 5-7* incline) and was very confused.

This morning, it happened again... same thing. Started up, shut off, cranks but won't start.:oops::oops:

My gas was just below 1/4 tank and I got to thinking, the last time it did this, my gas was also a bit low... đź’ˇ

I went to my garage and grabbed my lawnmower gas and filled it up with about 2 gallons and what do you know, it cranked right up.

I guess the gas tanks are biased to the rear or not well baffled?

Anyways, I'm happy I got it figured out even if a bit annoyed I waisted $150. :cautious:

I am thinking the guage is inaccurate. Really hope that is the issue. Keep us updated.
I think it was just the downward slope. I've gone lower before but I usually pull straight in or park on the road; I've been backing in lately. It started right up at the dealer and he drove it around. I think Toyotas fuel tank baffles are sh*t tbh. Its only a 5-7* slope, if even that.
