I'll do it for you for $40,000 and even throw in the 2011 look and a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. $30,000 for a new Rav4 V6 and $10,000 "labor" for me.

Trust me, that swap isn't worth it. You need EVERYTHING including EVU, tranny, engine, radiator, etc. You are better off selling your 4 banger for the V6.

Not even practical. You might as well drop a 428 Ford engine into a Pinto.............and that would be more simple. Trade it in and buy what you want.

The cost would far exceed the value of the automobile and you would end up with a morph that no one would buy or take on trade. Whizzing up a rope would be simple in comparison.

Isn't the exhaust system different also? Not to mention the wiring harnesses and even the fuse boxes?

Exhaust for sure but maybe not the wiring harness nor the fuse box nor the engine mounts. Overall, kind of a dumb swap. Better off retrofitting a supercharger or turbo than trying to jam in a V6.

You'd need a whole wrecked V6 RAV, a ton of hours and another car to drive for six months.

You need to gain 100HP. Maybe go with nitrous first then forced induction on the 4-banger.

Or maybe just put a "V6" emblem on the grill and play a CD of V6 sounds.

Better yet, as suggested, buy one that already has a V6 emblem and makes V6 sounds.

Sell those big ass wheels you have in your profile pic and use that money to trade up for a V6, haha. Or just do intake/exhaust to unlock a few extra horses and be happy that you're getting better gas mileage than the V6 Ravs.

This thread is almost as bad as that one guy who is putting the Tundra v8 into the RAV.

Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to get a v6 engine for my rav4 08 sport and swap my 4cylinder for the v6.
if anybody knows anything about it, price, etc...

thanks
ok so im in automotive at the ATCC ath the russellville high school and the v6 engine would cost around 2400 to 2600 and to do the swap it would cost an extra 200 or so.

Would also have to swap out the transmissions and the entire engine and transmission control system and possibly front suspension parts as well as other drivetrain components. Megabucks and mega hassles - would be much less expensive and less time consuming to sell the 4 cyl RAV4 and buy a V6 model.

Don't forget the exhaust system all needs to be changed too. Probably too many parts to buy and not to mention the complexity of making it work. One member just bought a used RAV4 V6 Sport for $3800 so it is way cheaper just to get a V6 model than wasting a lot of time and money modifying it to work.

That's easy. Just swap parking spots.
