776410R020 $50 (Listed as a part in the TSB for 2006)http://www.rav4world.com/tsb/2009/T-SB-0098-09.pdf

7764242060 $20 (Listed as a part for 2006)

I've a 06 RAV4 and I'm looking to install a protector to prevent possible damage to evaporator canister. There has been a lot of debris on roads lately. Could someone tell me what are differences between the two? Thanks.

I'm thinking the $20 charcoal filter shield is like the one on my 2008:

And the $50 shield is this larger plastic one which will not fit without some serious modifications:

OK, after searching the part numbers at toyodiy.com, I have found that part number 77642-42060 is the little protector at the corner of my fuel tank in the first picture. Part number 77641-0R020 is the large plastic shield in the second picture. I'm not sure if the metal mounting bracket comes with it, or is sold as a separate part.

Thanks for the picture. After looking at the pictures and the tsb, it looks like toyota is replacing the $20 fuel protector with a $50 fuel protector. Not sure there is any modification needed. The TSB didn't describe anything about it. The TSB was created in 2009 and applicable for 2006 - 2009.

The third picture looks like what I could see underneath the vehicle. I'm prepping the vehicle for my eldest to drive to school. $50 is a cheap insurance unless I've to modify it. I don't see any modification required based on the procedures in the TSB. I'll keep researching if I could come across someone who has gone through the procedures. Thanks for everything.

Let us know what you find. I am often doing in deep snow and ice and always forget about this week point of my RAV.
I already have the bracket in the first picture but an all-around cover would be best.

I strongly believe the bracket could be purchased through Toyota. I doubt Toyota would design a part for a single car line. When I've some spare times, I'll look into the canister bracket for Highlander and Lexus. We may be able to use it. It is less than $30.
