Hi how do you remove the jack on the passenger side of the car? It appears to be really hard to remove? thanks

Turn the main screw counter-clockwise to contract the jack. Then it comes out easily. When you finish and re-store the jack, turn it clockwist to secure it and keep it from rattling around.

 

Yes, that jack is not the most practical one.

 

Thanks for the help with the jack. I had folks from Sears and Walmart and even a security guard try to locate the jack. I sure could use the owners manual for the 2003 but looks like it is not available. Thanks again for all your help

Photo copying an owners manual from another kind RAVer in your town would be a good solution.

 

Screwing in the jack is the most ridiculous thing ever. Especially when you're trying to change a tire in the rain. I've tried to get the damn thing out several times now. I even tried just breaking it out. I'm just going to order one through Amazon.

 

unfortunately the kind folks at Toyota engineering assumed that all people are mechanically inclined and can figure out how to remove the jack under the front passenger seat. but unless you have actually used a scissor jack, you wouldn't know how turn it so it will loosen up and then you'll be able to take it out.
