This happened to me yesterday after driving it for months with an error message to call my dealer which I did right away only to be told it needs this cord that is on back order from Toyota that costs 7,000 but my 2020 is covered under warranty. This cord problem is only happening in America, in Japan this problem does not exist. My cord came in last week and they are supposed to do the work this Monday my car stopped working completely like yours yesterday so I had to get it towed to the dealership yesterday Saturday. Let's see if they pay for the towing. I doubt it. I'm disappointed in the service and quality, Toyota use to have a very good reputation but not anymore. Our Tocoma no problems with it but the Rav I'm thinking of trading it in for a Subaru. Very sad because driving a hybrid saved me a lot on gas. I also read that there is a class action suit regarding this problem with Toyota.
Did you have any problems with vehicle other than cable? I traded in a 09 Forester on a 2011 Toyota because I was having multiple different driveline problems with it and dealer was 700 km away. Our 2020 rav4 has had 0 issues.

If I were you I would check that your cord is sealed from dust getting in. If you check the Facebook group chat I think it is called cablegate LOL ,it will save you a possible 7 to 10,000 bill if your warranty later does not cover it. The only other problem I had was with the phone pairing with the car. I have a Google phone "android" and the car was very slow in catching up with the updates. It was very frustrating. If you have an Apple product the car is faster to catch up with app. upgrades.

Not to worry, got it covered. Rear traction motor high voltage connector corrosion and how to remedy it is old news.

My 2020 xse hybrid is in the shop right now for the high tension cables being replaced as the result of the,”Hybrid system malfunction” fault...and it’s covered by Toyota.

Same thing happened to us right before Christmas... We're still waiting for our car to be fixed 400km from our house because this is where our car decided to stop working! It's been 3 months and they're still waiting for the damn cable. How long did you have to wait and are you in Canada or in the US?
