Just got our iKamper Mini RTT installed, and it fits perfectly on the RAV4. Definitely a great size for this vehicle.
So far we have not noticed any changes in how the RAV drives or anything.
We are hoping to get away camping in the next few weeks to really test it out, but so far we are impressed!
It is super easy to set up.

We have it mounted to a FrontRunner rack system that attaches to the raised roof rails that are on the Adventure or TRD trim levels. It is probably best to use aftermarket cross bars or a rack system for a rooftop tent. So for our FrontRunner set up has been great. Super solid and secure.

Im sure it will fit, but might look kinda long on the RAV.
Here is our awning before we got the rooftop tent so you can see how it looks:

Imagine a longer awning would hand over the front quite a bit more.
Could work but might look too big.
There are other brands that make awnings like Roam Adventures, and Dobinsons.
Perhaps they have one in the size you are looking for!

I've been watching your youtube videos. Thank you for making them.

I enjoy the cooking segments. Do you use any special spices? Also I was wondering who makes the cool cooking setup? I would like to buy one of those. It seems very versatile and simple to use.

Finally do you have a link for the storage containers? They fit really well in the Rav4. Sorry for being a pest but your videos make me want to purchase the items your using. :)

Happy trails.

Lunar_Lander, your license frame says Vallejo. Is that where you live? The reason I ask, I was born and raised in Vallejo and my RAV4 came from Vallejo on the transfer to Concord. I now live in Martinez but my mom is still in Vallejo.

The FrontRunner rack is sort of a tricky situation. Technically they don't have a fitment specifically for the TRD, so we worked directly with FrontRunner and had their SoCal shop work out a fitment on our rig. I believe this was part of their planning / testing phase for a TRD/Adventure specific system that they are developing now. I would check in with FrontRunner directly and see when they expect to have that available to the public.
I know they do have a system for the non-TRD/Adventure trim levels, but the raised roof rails require different parts.
We actually drove from Northern CA to FrontRunner's SoCal shop to get the rack set up for us, and so far it has been amazing.
Not sure if any of the other grab-on systems they have available would work well for the TRD, but its worth reaching out to them to find out.

The iKamper Mini is almost 13" tall. Then the FrontRunner rack & tent mount is a few inches.
The FrontRunner sits on top of the Raised Roof Rails that add several more inches.

If you have a Prinsu rack, that is a bit more flush to the vehicle, so probably does not add as much height as my Frontrunner set up.

We also have a lift kit & stiffer coils that raise us even more, so I avoid any garages that have low ceilings haha.

Just took a quick measurement and its about 7" from the top of the car to the bottom of the iKamper:

So actually there is no problem having the weight of the tent + 2 adults on the roof rails. The weight limit that is documented is the Dynamic Weight Limit, which is the weight limit while moving (up to 80MPH on the freeway and then slamming on the brakes). When you are parked, there is a different weight limit (Static Weight Limit) that is much higher.
There are a TON of people who use these rooftop tents & love them. I have never heard of any issues around weight.
