The FrontRunner rack is sort of a tricky situation. Technically they don't have a fitment specifically for the TRD, so we worked directly with FrontRunner and had their SoCal shop work out a fitment on our rig. I believe this was part of their planning / testing phase for a TRD/Adventure specific system that they are developing now. I would check in with FrontRunner directly and see when they expect to have that available to the public.
I know they do have a system for the non-TRD/Adventure trim levels, but the raised roof rails require different parts.
We actually drove from Northern CA to FrontRunner's SoCal shop to get the rack set up for us, and so far it has been amazing.
Not sure if any of the other grab-on systems they have available would work well for the TRD, but its worth reaching out to them to find out.

What’s the total height of your rack with the ikamper? Just worried about entering my garage/etc. thanks so much!
The iKamper Mini is almost 13" tall. Then the FrontRunner rack & tent mount is a few inches.
The FrontRunner sits on top of the Raised Roof Rails that add several more inches.

If you have a Prinsu rack, that is a bit more flush to the vehicle, so probably does not add as much height as my Frontrunner set up.

We also have a lift kit & stiffer coils that raise us even more, so I avoid any garages that have low ceilings haha.

Just took a quick measurement and its about 7" from the top of the car to the bottom of the iKamper:

Those roof campers are cool but I got to think with the unit and two adults they exceed any weight Toyota intended to have on those rails.
So actually there is no problem having the weight of the tent + 2 adults on the roof rails. The weight limit that is documented is the Dynamic Weight Limit, which is the weight limit while moving (up to 80MPH on the freeway and then slamming on the brakes). When you are parked, there is a different weight limit (Static Weight Limit) that is much higher.
There are a TON of people who use these rooftop tents & love them. I have never heard of any issues around weight.

Yea!

I've been watching your youtube videos. Thank you for making them.

I enjoy the cooking segments. Do you use any special spices? Also I was wondering who makes the cool cooking setup? I would like to buy one of those. It seems very versatile and simple to use.

Finally do you have a link for the storage containers? They fit really well in the Rav4. Sorry for being a pest but your videos make me want to purchase the items your using. :)

Happy trails.

No worries!! Always happy to share tips & gear advice based on what has worked well for us. We have learned a lot from others on this forum that have shared their advice as well.
The awesome cook top we use is a skottle by Tembo Tusk: TemboTusk Adjustable Leg Skottle Grill Kit

We use a lot of different spices (my wife does, really), but we get most of them from Burlap & Barrel .
Having good quality spices is a game changer. Some of our favorites are: smoked pimenton paprika, black urfa chili, and black lime.

The gear boxes are the wolf pack boxes from Front Runner: Front Runner Wolf Pack
They have been great so far.

Cheers!

Just got our iKamper Mini RTT installed, and it fits perfectly on the RAV4. Definitely a great size for this vehicle.
So far we have not noticed any changes in how the RAV drives or anything.
We are hoping to get away camping in the next few weeks to really test it out, but so far we are impressed!
It is super easy to set up.

Hi - would the Skycamp 2.0 RTT fit on top of a Rav 4?

It is heavier than the Mini, so that is something to consider.
Also it is much longer, so it might hang over past the front of the roof of the car over the front windsheild.
The mini seems to fit perfectly, though it is much smaller inside!
We still love it though.

The tent has been amazing. It has been mounted to our RAV full-time since we bought it, and we have spent over 40nights in the tent. We absolutely love it and it has held up well in rain, show, wind, etc. Great quality & build.

Thank you! And, just so I'm clear, "RTT" stands for "roof top tent", right? Sorry, novice question. Just wanted to make certain that is not a model name.

Do you remember what brand you went with for the roof rack?

Yup! RTT is rooftop tent. We have a Frontrunner Slimline rack, though the Prinsu rack is also a great option for the RAV4.

Hey! Yes we do have a Rough Country 2.5" spacer + DENDOFF stiffer rear coils.
We had the stiffer coils installed because we were sagging a lot with the RTT and heavy gear we take camping (dometic fridge, tons of water, emergency supplies, etc). We no have no issues with sagging with the stiffer rear coils.

With all my added gear I lose about .75" so this is intriguing to me. The springs themselves don't add any lift and are just stiffer in compression, correct?
