All my vehicles get stainless steel license plate screws, probably #10 X 3/4" in most cases. Since in CT we keep our plates from one car to the next I see too many nice cars with ugly brown stains down their plates from using the stock steel screws. Not going to be mine.

I replaced my license plate screws with stainless steel ones that come in a little pack at Lowe's. I've had too many plates stained with rust from the original screws. The size you need is 6MM X 1.0 X 25MM long.
