Lights won't turn off

One day it rained really hard, and since then my headlights will not turn off, no matter what I do. The dash lights and parking lights will turn off, but not the headlights. When I turn the Rav off, everything turns off except the headlights. I pulled the fuses so they wouldn't drain the battery. Some people were saying it could be a stuck relay, but I don't know where or which one it is. Has anyone ever had this problem before???????/

I see you have had the car at the dealer (From your OTHER post on this exact topic!!!) did you not mention the headlight problem to them?? (They probably could have fixed it in 5 min....) The relay for the lights should be under the hood.....

Well, they had the vehicle for way longer than they said they would. By the time they figured out what was going on with it not starting, I really needed it back. Plus, I ended up spending $998 I really didn't have in the first place to spend. So adding more money and time to this whole nightmare was nothing I wanted to give the Toyota dealership the pleasure of. So I figured getting the headlights to go off would be alot easier for me than trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. I looked under the hood in the fuse box and nothing says headlight relay or anything close to headlight relay.

i think that a relay for headlight is in the same place as relay for fog lights. to get there is very tricky. inside cabin you have littler storage on your left side right under the mirror position button and traction button. you have to remove it and you will see some fuses. heres the tricky part. the relay is located behind fuses, so your gona need a flash light and little mirror. hope this helps

Good idea Alien18. I never knew those relays were behind there. I pulled all of those relays (including the fog light relay, thanks for that tip), but the lights remain on. I'm starting to wonder if the headlight relay might be in some weird isolated place. I've researched all over the internet, but I can't seem to find out where it is located.

H - LP is the name of the relay on my 1998 and in the manual for the 2000 and on models......

The location of this relay should be in the fuse / relay box between the headlight and strut tower..... Hope this fixes your problem.....

AussieRaver I didn't have a relay labeled H-LP under my hood. Anyway, the Rav has been at the stealership for a week now. I had the no start issue again, so they towed it back to the stealership for me. I just told them to fix everything. Is it possible I got a bad Rav? I never had problems with Toyota before, so this experience makes me wonder................................
