carry a spare door key in your wallet.
most of the older ravs you can get a key for 3-10 bucks.
i always have 2 key rings
one left pocket and one right pocket
and spare keys in wallet.
that will get you a plan A,B and C.
yea they have saved me at least a grand so far in 2023.

 

From there, I was able to remove the antenna from the roof, pry the door slightly with the tire iron, and use the antenna to press the unlock button!
(If you're in this situation, the unlock side of the button is the one closer to the window switches)

Had to bend the antenna a bit, but I'll just get a new one when I visit the junkyard next. $5 instead of $130 is a good deal to me!

I did not think there were antennas like that anymore. All I see now a days are the shark fin type. That was a 98 Rav4?? I use to carry a spare key in my wallet. Darn thing hurts when I sat on it. So, now I just make sure I have the key in my hand before closing the door and lock the doors with the fob.

 

There are credit-card shaped plastic keys, AAA used to offer these for free to members

 

Okay I got one, I locked my key fob in my BMW many years ago as I went cycling after work. Work. Realized I was locked out called AAA and they put the pillow method into the door frame to wedge it open. We can see the key fob sitting in the center console. I suggested he just press the unlock button on the fob, and instantly opened.

 

Had a 'hide a key' box and the crooks found that right away. Dad said make a dupe key for the door lock only... and screw it in behind the license plate. Our family has done that for over 50 years... and it's saved a lot of grief and money. No one has figure it out. Our little secret?

If you lose your wallet you're up **** creek without a paddle anyway (credit cards, licence etc).
I leave my second key at home, -I can always get it or have it sent.

And the 4th well I have my locksmith credentials lol so a 4.1 rav is not that big of challenge. I can mcguiver my way in to most cars and trucks pretty easily.
