Just committed today. Last fall I picked up a set of 17” Mustang wheels from the 2006-09 Pony package (appearance on V6 models) which are styled like American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels. They are a perfect (lugcentric) fit for the RAV. I’ve also abandoned the seasonal tire changeover and went with All-Weather tires. I chose Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires, size and spec: 244/65-17 111T. Got an extra 1/2” ground clearance, the sidewall is nice and soft to smooth out the craters we call roads here. I went with the AT3 because of the construction site use and being FWD (need all the traction I can get in the soupy dirt/mud/gravel.)

I’m happy with the setup. I definitely notice the torque reduction from the larger diameter, but that’s ok for me. No rubbing, ample clearance to the fender, wells, and control arms. Being FWD, I also don’t need to worry about a matching spare tire, so I’m sticking with my original size, and ai can still use the cover.

Wow the Limited wheels don't look like complete dogpoop in graphite.
I know right. I took a chance and $150 in materials. I'm happy with the outcome so I'm just going to keep running these instead of buying new ones.

I stuck with the Trails in the stock size for weight and because it's a %95 on road vehicle, just some power line access roads and hiking trail heads here and there. Same with the spacers though. The stock offset with the fender flares just looks ridiculous. Lift soon? I did H&R Adventure springs and couldn't be happier. Smaller lift (~1") but higher spring rate and on Bilstein B8's make it drive so much better on and off road.

Lift I'm still debating. I don't dislike the current height but 1" or so wouldn't hurt. It may happen anyways because I am changing the rear springs atleast for a better spring rate along w/ a set of Firestone bags for extra adjustability with towing or heavier loads in the rear. I'll give those H&R Springs a look. I do have a Skid Plate Guys skid plate and diff protector on there for a little extra peace of Mlmind if I do happen to run over something and it gets a little too close. I'm a Bilstein fan. I have them on my Bronco and I love them. They will definitely be in the future. Is it correct that Gen 4.4 shocks work on the 4.3? The Rav currently only has just over 40,000 original miles so everything in the suspension is actually in great order. Barely driven West Coast Car.

Mine is the opposite with 140k of NE living so the original suspension was SHOT. Yes 4.4 shocks/struts fit and work fine, same chassis. I used B6 front struts (B8 were NA at the time plus they have a built in 1" lift) and B8 rear shocks. The shocks came with a little spring seat spacer for the 1" lift but I like the stance it has with just the springs.

ig: RAV4.3v6

These rims and tires are perfect. Exactly what I would like on a 2007 Rav4. But I have x2 Rav's that are for sale and I am having difficulty deciding on one. Both are 2007 Limited but one is v4 AWD and the other is a V6 FWD. Does anyone have any feedback/advice on making a decision easier!!!

First of all, no such thing as a V4 Toyota. It's an I4. And 2006 to 02008 4cyl Toyotas are infamous for major oil issues, so definitely go with a V6. If you don't live in a cold, snowy area, the front wheel drive would be fine.

I hadn't noticed I typed V4, but I am so glad you understood what I meant! Thank you sooo much for your feedback. You have no idea what a hassle you saved me from. Definitely going with the V6. I am new this forum, I was not expecting such a quick response! Again, thank you! :)
