We are looking at the 2020 XLE Hybrid near Houston and have a OTD price of $34K with all three XLE options - Audio plus, weather and Conv. packs. Please let us know if this a good price? Since they dont have any local stock, we would have to order from Toyota (60-90 day) build time.

Difficult to say without the breakdown. Have you tried a search through Trucar.com. I was able to get a good price through them, and was able to see what stock the dealers within a specific radius had. You can also go through costco.com (look under services) and find the invoice price with your options. This should give an idea of what you have to work with.

City and State Where You Purchased: MD, but live in VA. Car will be registered in VA.

I wanted this very specific combination, and found a dealer who was able to help me out. Put a deposit on Jan 20, 2020. The car was built on Jan 28, and delivered to the dealer on Feb 4. I picked it up on the 8th. TrueCar was a great resource for my search and pricing.
Hi, could you please tell me on which dealer you used in MD ? I tried reaching to multiple dealers in VA but most of them are offering very little discounts. Thank you for your help

It being Presidents Day, I was scanning my local dealer website and happened to see a 2020 rav4 Limited hybrid in the color scheme and pkgs (tech, weather) I wanted. So I inquired about pricing and also the date it was manufactured (to avoid engine recall), and it was made in January so should be clear. Amazingly, they’re still asking full MSRP for the hybrid Limited. The engine recall and gas tank filling issue has apparently not blunted demand, although this particular vehicle has been on the dealer lot for 2 weeks. Of course Toyota did not release January sales figures so we dont know for sure what rav4’s did last month.

I bought it from Antwerpen Toyota. I used Truecar, and I was getting good discounts from a couple of other MD dealers as well. You may want to do the same thing.

  • 2020 Rav4 Hybrid XLE
  • Magnetic Gray with black interior
  • Wheel locks, Mudguards, All-Weather Cargo Liner/Floor Mats, Black Emblem Overlays
  • MSRP: $31,153
  • Purchase Price: $26,400 + $799 doc fee. Includes $500 Toyota Financial Service Rebate
Out the door price was $27,215 because my "state" (DC) doesn't charge sales tax on vehicles getting > 40mpg city. Dealership offered me about $1.9k more on my trade than they should have because they agreed to match Carvana's offer. Planning to pay off the TFS within a couple months because $500 is not worth 4 years of interest @ 4.9%
How do you like the black emblem overlays. Depending on getting them

Purchased 2/17/2020 (President's Day Weekend) in San Jose, CA
2020 Magnetic Gray Metallic XLE Hybrid (MSRP $29645) with XLE weather pkg ($925) and XLE convenience pkg ($1265)
Total MSRP: $32955 (inc. $1120 delivery/processing fee)
Dealer discount with internet department via truecar -$2500 = $30455
Tax at 8.5% ($2595)
License and Doc Fee ($560)
OTD total: $33611.65

Apparently these RAV4 are flying off the lots like hotcakes. This car only came in the day before with 3 miles on odometer.

When I bought my 2020 rav4 Limited back in November, this local Orange County told me they were doing a $5k-$10k “market adjustment” for hybrids. This I believe was a diversion to make me feel the $3k mkt adjustment being offered on the vehicle I wanted was a “good deal”. I ended up buying a non-hybrid to avoid the pricing games they were playing on the hybrids, and got a discount off of msrp on the gas model.

Southern California has crazy pricing (the Mossy pic above is a SoCal dealer known for doing dealer markup, so I didn't even try there). Most dealers are either doing a lot of dealer-added "options" or just a flat-out surcharge...5K seems to be the most common. Autoland and Costco were of no help. It took me weeks of walking out to finally get a vendor who was willing to be realistic.

They just happened to be on the vehicle. At first glance I really disliked the look and planned on removing it as soon as I got home. They've since grown on me a bit. It's a little personal touch to an otherwise ubiquitous vehicle. I can't complain about the quality of the overlays, they do exactly what you'd expect.

The low point of the overlay kit, to me, is how the Hybrid badges on the front fenders look -- it screams "high schooler with plastidip" to me. I don't think that my tastes are sync with most though...if I was to buy a XSE, I'd probably swap the black wheels off it within the first month...

A certain Orange County CA dealer told me they were taking low ends and putting leather on them by third party so mark up is $5K (To which I call bs anyways). I promptly told them with the fuel issues, and engine block issues, and all the other local toyota dealers in CA doing MSRP to start without mark ups I'm good. I track inventory every couple weeks. I mean, since he's running through it I'm sure he's selling it. If he's marking up $5K and there are buyers good for him, I'm just not gonna be one of them.

add to that the stock market is cratering due to the coronavirus epidemic soon to be a pandemic...the GDP is already being downgraded for 2020...car buyers arent going to feel so flush to buy marked up Toyotas after they see their monthly retirement statements for February...I wish I had waited a few more months to buy my rav...

Hi folks,

Currently working on this package with a dealership. Car is en route from the port and hope to close on it by next week.
Year: 2020
Trim: Limited
FWD or AWD: Hybrid AWD
Color: Black
Options: Limited Advanced Technology Package, Limited Grade Weather Package, Roof rack, mud flaps
MSRP: $40, 753
Discount: $1, 753
Invoice Price (if known): $37,829 (used Costco and TrueCar)
Sales Price (excluding tax, title, license): $39,000
OTD (including tax, title, license): $39,000 + $85.00 (doc fee) + $536 (title & licence fee) + 3713.08 (tax) = 43358.83
City and State Where You Purchased: Southern California.

Not as much of a discount. Though, I'm trying to get it further down. They're letting me use my own bank for financing but I might go ahead with TFS to get the extra $500 off. The real killer is the tax we have in Los Angeles. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advanced.

Just got a 2020 RAV4 Hybrid Limited with Advanced Tech, Weather, and Adaptive Headlights. Greater Boston, MA area. Here's the pricing details:

MSRP$ 40,455.00
Discount$ (2,392.00)
Car net price$ 38,063.00
Dealer fee$ 499.00
Wheel locks$ 119.00
Price before taxes and registration$ 38,681.00

In the Toyota website, the MSRP said $40,205; but the sticker on the vehicle had $40,455 -- I'm guessing Toyota is pushing a price increase, but hasn't updated the website yet. Also, the wheel locks are a total gimmick ($119 vs. $30 if you order them and install yourself) but they come on the vehicle and the dealer wouldn't take them off, so I gave up on that one. Also, for mats and other accessories, the dealer will charge you through the nose for them ... order them online (I like toyotapartsdeal.com) and save a few bucks.
